Meet SMW Founders
We married in 2002, hard to believe it has been so long, we still have so much fun together!
We started the sister brand to Simple Oahu Wedding, Simple Maui Wedding in 2009 after realizing that the Maui wedding market needed a company that offered simple, modern wedding packages. In 2017 after spending time in Oahu we decided that we needed to expand to other islands and decided to offer the same quality wedding packages on Oahu. Karma oversees the daily operations, she also founded Karma Hill Photography, the amazing photography team that photographs all our weddings. You can probably thank Steve for helping you find our site on-line, he is our marketing guru among many other "back of the house" duties. We have two kids and relocated to Maui from Seattle in 2006. Although we call Maui home, we have a special place in our heart for breathtaking Oahu.
Karma & Steve
John leads the planning team with over 20 years of experience in the Hawaii Wedding industry. He is assisted by Mira our wedding coordinator who is an eagle eye for detail and ensures everything is perfect before your big day.
John is a classically trained chef, world traveler and passionate special events professional. He enjoys entertaining at home and spending time at the beach.
Mira is a Maui girl who loves gardening and cultivating her succulent garden, hiking and spending time at the beach with friends when she is not creating the perfect wedding day for our clients.
Our onsite team of coordinators, Keani, Christine and Vy are the people who make your day run smoothly. They are fabulous at what they do and they will keep you stress free and smiling! They will be your best friend, make sure there is no food in your teeth and your future mother-in-law is happy.

Our photographers, Karma, Pinky, Laura, Kelsey, Mike and Megan all shoot for the Karma Hill Photography Team, the exclusive provider of our photography services. All of our photographers are kind, fun, talented and will make you feel comfortable in front of the camera! Our team uses Hawaii's gorgeous natural light and creates unique images that will help you remember the magic that happened on your wedding day. Our photography office manager, Brooke oversees all our post processing in house to make sure that your photos are perfection! You won't see a beachgoer in a speedo in the background of your photos, unless you want them there!
