When Kathleen and Irvin said “let’s elope in Hawaii,” they didn’t just mean any beach. No, no, these two chose Kualoa Beach Park for their Oahu elopement! It’s where the mountains look like they’ve been carved by gods with a flair for drama. This wasn’t just a wedding. This was cinematic!
Together for over five years (and friends for even longer), Kathleen and Irvin have the kind of love story that feels steady and sure, like a ukulele chord that always lands in the right place. They got engaged in their living room, just a few months after moving into their first apartment. (Yes, our hearts melted too.)
Just You And Me
Kathleen, a fresh RN grad who also works in Quality for a cosmetics company (aka she’s brilliant and radiant), looked absolutely luminous with a flower crown that made her resemble a Hawaiian goddess. Irvin, calm and cool in his barong-style shirt and maile lei, is an aircraft mechanic. And that somehow feels so perfect because he’s clearly been her best support over years. (Sorry, had to.)
The ceremony was heartfelt, breezy (literally), and so them. As the sun dipped lower and the tradewinds rustled through the trees, they shared a kiss against a backdrop of jagged green cliffs and soft blue water. They later wandered the beach hand in hand like they were stepping into their bright future with all the aloha vibes embracing them…
Kualoa Beach Park, with its majestic emerald mountains and soft, curving shore, felt like it was made for this moment. There were no crowds. No seating charts. Just Kathleen and Irvin, on the lawn, the wind rustling through the palm trees, and the quiet hum of the ocean nearby. It was peaceful in a way that made your whole body exhale. Sacred in its simplicity…
