You know that trope where two people meet in high school, lose touch, and then fate (okay, fine, a dating app) brings them back together years later? Yeah. That’s Tyler and Ray. And their Oahu beach wedding at Waialae Beach? It was the perfect blend of laid-back island vibes and a love story straight out of a rom-com.
These two Southern California sweethearts first crossed paths in the very high school where Ray now teaches ceramic arts. (We love a full-circle moment.) Fast forward a few years, one heartfelt oceanfront proposal in July 2024, and voilà, they’re saying “I do” barefoot in the sand, surrounded by the people who love them most.
And honestly? It was so them. Relaxed. Joyful. Unapologetically full of sunshine and laughter. Tyler, looking absolutely stunning with waves in her hair and salt in the air, radiated bridal glow. Ray couldn’t stop smiling. And Leland, Tyler’s 12-year-old son, was right there with them, which made the whole thing feel even more like the beginning of a beautiful chapter.
They exchanged vows with toes in the sand, the Pacific as their backdrop, and a soft breeze that made everything feel just a little more cinematic. They kept things beautifully simple, choosing an incredible, intimate ceremony that felt true to them in every way. No huge crowds, no over-the-top production, just heartfelt vows, a gentle breeze, and the kind of love that makes you believe in forever.
Their portraits? Postcard-worthy. Like, “should we put this on a calendar?” level gorgeous. Between the glowy Oahu light, those sweet kisses, and the whole “just married and loving it” energy, every photo felt like a dream you’d want to relive forever.
Tyler and Ray chose a different kind of magic, one made of crashing waves, heartfelt vows, and a whole lot of aloha.
Ray complements her beautifully in a relaxed white shirt and tan slacks, adorned with a traditional Hawaiian maile lei that gives just the right nod to local tradition while keeping things casual and cool. Their easy smiles and the way they’re holding hands say it all: they’re not just dressed for the part, they’re in it, fully present and soaking in every second of this once-in-a-lifetime moment.
The calm shoreline behind them, with its gentle waves and natural rock formations, frames them in the most peaceful, dreamy way.
These newlywed portraits are endearing and relaxed. It’s everything an Oahu beach wedding should be.
Congratulations, Ray and Tyler! It was a joy to work with you and create your destination wedding dream! We wish nothing but love and happiness for you both! Sending you lots of love!
