However, with the non-packaged option, showing up is simply the first step of a marathon of legwork. There’s a reason why no one takes the second route.

Do Hawaii Destination Wedding Packages Include Airfare and Hotels?

Hawaii destination wedding packages do not include airfare and hotel accommodations.

There are numerous insurance liabilities involved with arranging travel, and big hitters like Expedia and Travelocity have the financial capital to ensure your safety and the well-being of your belongings. These huge companies have streamlined flights, hotels, and car rentals.

On the other hand, small wedding planning businesses have perfectly curated all the elements that go into a Hawaii wedding without losing that personal touch and building one-to-one relationships. Leave the travel to the big guys and let us take care of your Big Day.

Types of Ceremonies in Hawaii Destination Wedding Packages

There are two types of ceremony packages for Hawaii destination weddings: beach or venue. Come with us and we’ll explore the differences, pros, and cons!

Hawaii Beach Weddings – Who Are They Best For?

  • Ideal for fewer than 30 guests
  • Includes beach permit and insurance
  • Less expensive than a venue
  • No indoor option
  • Gorgeous backdrops

With beach weddings, simplicity reigns supreme. These packages are ideal for weddings with less than 30 people or eloping couples with few guests. Nothing can outdo the glistening ocean and the soft sensation of digging your toes in the sand. The Hawaii shoreside practically takes care of the decorating–which is convenient and fortunate since many decorative items are restricted on Hawaii beaches.

Hawaii destination wedding packages

Our packages abide by all state laws and regulations, and a beach wedding permit and liability insurance are included in every package. As a private citizen, securing these legal requirements is immensely difficult, so ensuring your Hawaii destination beach wedding package includes up-to-date paperwork is crucial.

Because of the money saved on booking a venue, Oahu beach wedding packages and Maui beach wedding packages tend to be less expensive. However, you’re also taking a small gamble on the weather. There are no indoor options available for beach weddings, so if the clouds aren’t behaving as planned, it could mean bringing out the umbrellas. Luckily, rainy days on the beach are rare, and few things compare to saying “I do” as the ocean keeps tempo, or listening to the deeply moving sound of your Hawaiian wedding officiant blowing the traditional conch shell to celebrate your union.

Plus all of the sunshine, smiles, and radiant ocean will be captured by the artistic lens of the Karma Hill Photography Team, voted the top 5 wedding photographers for the state of Hawaii for the past 4 years by Hawaii Magazine.

Beach wedding in Honolulu

The Top 5 Things to Consider Before Booking a Beach Wedding in Honolulu

When you imagine a wedding in Honolulu or anywhere in Oahu, you likely picture marrying on the beach. Endless pristine sand, scenic views, and serene water. It’s an idyllic picture, and your photos will likely embody much of that.

After all, Oahu is a beautiful place, and it’s hard to find a bad spot to get married. But your wedding is more than photos – it’s an entire experience.

There are two main choices for having a Honolulu wedding: marrying on the public beach or renting a dedicated venue.

A public beach wedding is great for many laid-back couples who want a budget-friendly and no-frills event. A commercial wedding venue is a bit pricier but comes with more comfort and amenities than the beach, plus there are fewer restrictions.

Do you think a beach wedding is the best choice for you? Ahead, we’ll outline some key considerations so you can make sure you’re booking the best Honolulu wedding package for you.

The Beach Crowds

A wedding at a public beach involves, well, the public. You don’t get exclusive access to any part of the beach, so you will be sharing your wedding site with swimmers, sunbathers, spikeball players, and day drinkers.

This is where experience vs. photos really comes into play. Our photography partner, Karma Hill Photography, photoshops nearly all the people out of wedding photos. So while you will be joined by strangers on your big day, you don’t have to remember them forever in your photos.

But how will these strangers make you feel during your wedding in Honolulu?

Couples often enjoy a quiet beach for their wedding in Honolulu and Oahu, but it’s a gamble. We try to predict the least crowded days by avoiding weekends and holidays as much as possible, avoiding peak hours during the day, and avoiding the most popular locations (sorry, that rules out a Waikiki Beach ceremony).

So while we do our best to get each couple the most serene beach wedding experience possible, many unknowns could cause the beaches to be busier.

The Wedding Plan

Each day is different at the best beaches in Oahu. Our team of experienced photographers and onsite coordinators are used to working in various conditions, but they have to make many calls only minutes before the ceremony.

What does that mean for your planning experience? We can plan many key elements ahead of time, but other things depend on each day’s unique circumstances.

Here are some things we can plan for at beach weddings:

  • If the couple would like not to see each other until the ceremony begins
  • Timing the ceremony for the best photography lighting
  • A meet-up spot for guests
  • A point of contact in case you need help finding the meet-up spot
  • What will your officiant say, and if you’ll share your own custom vows

Here are things that your team will decide as they show up shortly before the ceremony:

  • Where on the beach we’ll have the ceremony
  • Where the entrances will begin and where guests will stand
  • What kind of photo backdrops are available based on beachgoers and the tide
  • If parking is full, we’ll direct guests to a backup lot, which could cause one of your guests to serve as a shuttle from a distant lot to the beach.
  • If the weather is turning bad, we’ll decide if we need to wed under umbrellas or if we can wait out a passing shower.

If you and your guests are ok with going with the flow and following the guidance of your trusty onsite coordinator, you could really enjoy a relaxed beach wedding. But if you get anxious over the unknown, you may be better off booking a commercial venue, where we have a set location and more certainty.

beach wedding in Honolulu

The Risks of a Beach Ceremony

A commercial wedding venue in Honolulu or nearby will be a controlled space where we can manage seating, enjoy more privacy, and be in touch with a venue contact leading up to the ceremony.

A beach wedding leaves more opportunities for things to go wrong. This could include rain, strangers in the background, permit enforcement checking for paperwork, wind, noise, and parking struggles.

If you are so excited about a fun, relaxed beach wedding and hiccups like these won’t phase you, then go for it! But if you’ll be distracted on the day, or worried leading up to it, you may want to consider Oahu wedding venues instead.

Your Guest Count Is Important

Did you know that you can only have about 25 guests at a public beach wedding in Hawaii? This includes a beach wedding in Honolulu and throughout Oahu. And that 25-count limit could decrease if you hire many vendors or if the state changes the rules at any time.

There are no exceptions to the guest count cap, so you’ll definitely want to control your group size if you book a beach wedding.

If there is any chance that you could have 25 or more guests, then you should book an Oahu venue, which will be more flexible with guest count and provide a more comfortable experience for your larger group.

Based on our years of experience, we’ve actually found that guest counts of 15 or less work best at beach weddings. Most of this has to do with parking challenges at the beach and the fact that we aren’t allowed to set up seating.

Cost Of Oahu Beach Weddings

Having your wedding on the public beach does cost less than having it at a venue. This is because we don’t need to pay a site rental fee. Instead, we just need to secure a permit to have the wedding legally on the beach.

Budget-minded couples will likely first consider beach weddings, and that could be an excellent choice for you. But if you have concerns about some of the risks and unknowns involved with beach ceremonies, then you may need to look at your overall wedding and vacation budget to see if you can swing for a lower-cost venue.

What about couples with a larger wedding budget who really want to marry on the beach? If you have the funds for your dream wedding, then consider that a public beach wedding is the cheapest option. A beach on private/commercial property or any commercial venue could allow you to have a more elegant wedding while still being only steps away from the ocean.

If you’re having a small wedding in Oahu, you need to decide if you want to book a package on the public beach or at a dedicated Oahu wedding venue. For many couples, the choice comes down to price. But you may be surprised by the affordable wedding venues Oahu offers for small groups.

A beach wedding may seem cheaper, especially when you compare it too intricate events at upscale venues. But if you’re looking for a simple wedding in Oahu without the sand, strangers, and restrictions, you can still have an affordable event. It is important to go over the pros and cons with our wedding planner.

Today we’ll outline the price of a venue wedding and explore cost-saving measures that could have you marrying at a luxury locale without breaking the bank. Read along to discover how your dream Oahu wedding could be within reach.

The Cost of a Venue vs. Beach Wedding on Oahu

Our Simple Oahu Wedding package, held on the picturesque beach, includes an hour and a half of wedding photography and costs approximately $3300. In comparison, wedding packages offered at Oahu wedding venues typically range between $4750 and $5800, with the exact price varying based on the chosen venue’s location and amenities.

The primary contributor to the difference in these costs is the venue’s site fee. This fee not only secures a designated and beautifully maintained location for your wedding ceremony but also offers several valuable advantages. These include the provision of comfortable chairs for your guests, the opportunity to accommodate additional attendees, an array of customizable decor options, and the convenience of worry-free parking facilities.

While it’s true that a venue wedding may come with a higher price tag than a beach wedding, it’s essential to recognize the additional cost brings a wealth of benefits and amenities that can significantly enhance your wedding experience.

Having a Venue Wedding on a Budget

It’s easy to spend over $30,000 on a small wedding in Hawaii, but you don’t have to. Even if you choose to wed at a resort or estate, you don’t have to spend a fortune.

Venue packages offer an attractive middle ground between the simplicity of a basic beach wedding and the extravagance of a fully customized event. These packages provide you with a pathway to enjoy a wedding that is both simple and intimate, yet uniquely yours, all while being mindful of your budget.

If you’re seeking a wedding that strikes the perfect balance between simplicity and personalization, a venue wedding might be just the solution you’re looking for. Keep reading to discover why a venue wedding doesn’t have to be the expensive endeavor it may initially seem.

1. Book an Oahu Wedding Venue for a Ceremony Only

While many venues charge thousands of dollars for a rental fee, they may offer special pricing if you book for a limited timeframe. It’s called a ceremony-only booking, but it will also include some time for portraits as well.

This works out great for couples searching for affordable wedding venues in Oahu. There will likely be restrictions that come along with the lower site fee, so here are some things to look out for:

  • You’ll want to make sure the rental time covers the time for set-up, arrivals, photos, and departure. Talk to your wedding coordinator to ensure there is enough time for everything.
  • The ceremony-only option may only be available on certain days of the week or certain times of the day.
  • You may only be allowed to have a certain number of guests at wedding venues in Oahu. What is allowed varies by event space.

Even if you do face some restrictions at your wedding venue, it will still likely be more enjoyable than a public beach wedding, which involves many strict rules.

2. Plan Your Wedding Reception Elsewhere

Even if you book only a wedding ceremony package for your wedding, you can still have a wonderful wedding reception. Most couples plan that at a nearby restaurant or luau. The per-person cost ends up being far less than having dinner at a private venue.

If you have a reception at a venue, you’ll need to pay the full site fee and then bring in all the rentals to have a meal there. This includes everything from chairs and tables to entertainment and staffing. You’ll even need to plan every cup and fork and provide the lighting so you can party into the night. Plus, there’s the cost of hiring someone to coordinate that for you.

That works great if it’s within your budget. But if you’re hoping for a simple wedding, you can instead bring your guests to a restaurant, where you don’t have to worry about rentals and staffing.

A restaurant reception for 20 people would add a couple of thousand dollars to your wedding ceremony costs, which is far less than a $20,000+ event.

3. Keep Decorations Simple

Just because you can have endless decorations at your wedding venue doesn’t mean you must. In fact, you can have a simple venue wedding with no additional decor at all. The natural scenery provides all the beauty you need.

If you do want some decorations at your venue ceremony, then you can plan to spend $600 – $2,000+ on flower setups. Also, take a look at these low-cost fun Oahu wedding details you can add to enhance your ceremony.

We sometimes see couples who feel pressured to spend a lot on their wedding ceremonies decor because they’re afraid the venue will look plain or ordinary without it. While flowers are always pretty, there’s no need to stretch your budget thin just because you think weddings need lots of decor.

Embracing the beauty of simplicity can help you keep costs down for your Oahu venue wedding.

What’s Worth Paying For

As you weigh the differences between a beach and a venue wedding, it’s tempting to look only at the cost. You may not want to trim your budget every chance you get, especially if that means sacrificing your happiness.

While we don’t recommend anyone deplete their savings or go overboard with their wedding spending, we do encourage everyone to look beyond the price tag. Here are some things worth thinking about as you begin budgeting for your Oahu wedding:

  • Your happiness in the moment
  • How you’ll look back on your wedding for the rest of your life
  • Peace of mind during the wedding planning process
  • Your guests’ wedding experience

If you’ll be unhappy on a sandy beach with your guests standing and no rain backup plan, it may be worth saving up for an extra few months. You can then afford an Oahu venue wedding package with an ocean view or whatever your heart desires.

We’ve already explored how to keep your costs down while opting for the venue ceremony, so you probably don’t have to save up as long as you feared. And it will be worth it to have a wedding day you’re truly happy with.

Affordable Wedding Venues on Oahu (That Aren’t on the Public Beach)

If you’ve decided to have a venue wedding in Oahu, you’ll need to find the perfect location. The good news is that anywhere on Oahu is absolutely gorgeous. But if you want a place that’s beautiful, private, and off the beach, you’ll be happy to discover that there are some affordable options.

All of our Simple Oahu Wedding packages run under $6,000 and have a maximum guest count of either 18, 30, or 50 people.

One of our favorite spots for a ceremony is the Royal Hawaiian Golf Club. It’s a serene location with unique mountain views. You can either have a restaurant-style reception onsite at their golf club or head back to Honolulu to have a restaurant reception at your favorite spot.

Kualoa Ranch Secret Island is our most popular venue package. It allows couples to wed with their toes in the sand without the restrictions that a public beach wedding will face.

With so many wedding venues Oahu is a great place to have a small yet beautiful wedding ceremony.

A Simple Venue Wedding

While we think beach weddings are beautiful in their simplicity, we’ve found many couples have a better wedding experience with the security and peace of mind a venue provides. You can keep your plans simple by sticking with the base package, or customize your experience with more florals, vendors, and photography time.

Whether you are on a tight budget or ready to wow with your investment, an Oahu Venue Package could be the perfect option for your wedding day.

Avoid Hawaii quarantine

After months of mandatory quarantine and shuttered hotels, we’re happy to learn that beginning on October 15th, 2020, the Hawaii Government will be welcoming visitors who test negative for COVID-19 to our islands! That means more happy couples and more beautiful Oahu weddings!

If you’re planning to travel to Hawaii during COVID-19, follow along and we’ll help you understand the regulations and avoid the quarantine.

Here’s a quick overview of what you need to know for all travel to Hawaii during COVID-19:

  • Get Tested for COVID-19 72 hours before travel
  • Plan for additional precautions at the airport
  • Consider your guests

For a very detailed Q&A from the Hawaii State Government please visit The Department of Health Travel Frequently Asked Questions Page.

Now let’s break it down, so you can start planning your dream wedding in Hawaii.

Get Tested For COVID-19 Before Traveling to Hawaii

Beginning on October 15th, Hawaii COVID-19 travel restrictions will require documentation of a negative COVID-19 test in order to avoid the Hawaii quarantine.

Here’s a checklist to help you travel to Hawaii during COVID-19, so you can relax and start dreaming of your big day:

  • Do not travel to Hawaii before October 15th.
  • If you travel to Hawaii before October 15th you will have to quarantine for 14 days, regardless of any testing you completed before traveling.
  • You must take the test no more than 3 days (72 hours) BEFORE arriving in Hawaii – no commercial testing will be provided at the airport
    • All travelers of all ages subject to pre-test requirement
    • Individuals will be responsible for testing costs
    • After testing and before your flight, please practice social distancing and self-quarantine to help keep our islands healthy!
  • You must take the test PRIOR to traveling. You will have to still quarantine for 14 days, even with a negative test result once in Hawaii if you do not take the test prior to traveling.
  • You will need to have your RESULTS by the time you fly.
    • However, some tests can take between 3 – 4 days, so plan accordingly and ask your provider for their standard delivery timeline
  • If the results are not ready by the time you leave, you must quarantine until your test results come in and are negative. If you do not want to test or are unable to test, you will be required to quarantine for 14 days. If your trip is less than 14 days, you must quarantine for the duration of your trip.
    • During quarantine, you can only leave your accommodation for a medical emergency, you can NOT go out to get food or go to the beach
    • Violating the quarantine can incur a $5,000 fine and/or a year of imprisonment.
    • So get tested for COVID-19 to enjoy your Hawaii vacay!
  • CLIA is the federal regulatory system for regulating laboratory testing
  • An antibody test will NOT be accepted

Currently approved trusted testing partners are: CVS and Kaiser Permanente. Trusted testing partners are entities that understand exactly what the State requires in terms of this program. Additionally, the state will accept test results from other sources so long as they meet the testing parameters set forth by the DOH, which are an FDA-approved NAAT test processed by a CLIA-certified lab.

Whether through CVS, Kaiser or another source, it is the traveler’s responsibility to confirm they are receiving the correct test.

  2. When you have finished selecting the images you love, go to your Favorites folder by clicking “Favorite” in the top menu bar to review your picks.
  3. Select “Buy All” to begin the download process of your favorite images.
  4. At checkout, enter the promo code we provided in our latest email to you. This promo code will waive all costs towards the image count per your package.
  5. Complete and submit the checkout process. Shortly, you will receive an email containing a zip folder of your digital images to save onto your desktop computer.

You’re done! Please be sure to allow enough time for the zip folder to extract or open on your desktop computer. Save your digital images in multiple storage locations if possible. Online proofing galleries will be active for 30 days. We will also keep your images backed up for one year.

Information About Your Promo Codes

We will email you TWO Promo Codes! Here’s how to use them!

We send every client two promo codes; to download your Oahu wedding digital images from your proofing gallery and for a discount towards print products for a limited time.

The promo code to download your images (at no cost) is valid for a single-use. Therefore, be sure to select and review the appropriate amount of images that comes in your package before using this promo code offer. Each additional image not included in your package will be an additional $10 per image. You are also welcome to purchase your full collection of images for a discounted price at any time while your gallery is active.

Every proofing gallery has the option to purchase professional quality print products. As a special offer to our clients, we offer 50% off prints, canvases, and metal purchases (album and digital images excluded) for a limited time. Unlike the promo code to download your images, this promo code can be used for an unlimited number of uses until it’s expired. Sharing this code with family and friends who are interested in purchasing from your proofing gallery allows them to take advantage of these savings too.

Getting married in Oahu means endless possibilities when it comes to wedding photos! Sharing your photos with everyone on Facebook and Instagram is just the beginning — now it’s time for the fun part — decorating your home!

You can go subtle with standard 5×7 prints on a shelf in a frame. Have a huge canvas of a gorgeous Oahu scene engulf an empty wall. Or have three framed prints of an image, known as a triptych set, to add to the style of your modern living room area.

Today, we’ll be sharing our favorite print inspiration with real photos from our couples getting married in Oahu! Get your inspo boards ready!

getting married in Oahu

Hawaii has some of the most gorgeous scenery in the world. Sure, we might be a little biased, but when you’re surrounded with glistening ocean scapes and lush valleys, it’s hard to disagree. Getting married in Oahu means your backdrop will feature Hawaii in all its beauty. We think scenic shots are cool, but when you’re included in these epic Hawaii views, these shots are even cooler!

Consider selecting your favorite scenic shot to showcase your Hawaii wedding right in your living room. Breaking up the images adds contour and texture to your wall design and will draw the eye of all your guests to the fact that you said “Yes” to getting married in Oahu!

Most of these frames hold 20×30 enlarged photos and canvas wall art. Beautiful photos like these are meant to be seen enlarged! Trying a 20×30 metal print of majestic views is another modern option that is also one of our popular purchases from clients.

Selecting an image that highlights a tender or intimate moment of your Big Day is also a wonderful way to bring the beauty of your relationship into your home. Consider the color theme of the room or design the decor around the photo.

Scenic photos aren’t the only moments that are worth enlarging! Isn’t it obvious that these boots aren’t just made for walking? 😉 The Karma Hill Photography team specializes in capturing a variety of beautiful shots that reflect your special day. There will likely be several images that zoom in tight to highlight body language. A photo that leaves the expressions and features to the imagination works as a vivid piece of art that reflects your love.

There you have it! We hope you were in awe with the potential beauty that enlarging your photos can do for your cozy home. And when you do, send us a photo of how you decorated your living spaces – we always love seeing a piece of Hawaii throughout the world!

Our package for this venue comes with a simple arch that elegantly draws the eye to the couple during the ceremony. However, if you’d like something more simple, you can opt to have no arch and let the tropical backdrop do the framing for you, or you can upgrade to include flowers and drapery for $600.

Perhaps the biggest perk to having your wedding in Oahu at this venue is the sheer variety of gorgeous backdrops. ✦ Reception Options at the Royal Hawaiian Golf Club

This venue has an onsite restaurant known as the ‘Olena on the ground level of their clubhouse. Receptions at the ‘Olena need to be made directly with the venue, so we’ll happily connect you with their events manager.

We do not plan receptions but would be thrilled to add reception flowers such as centerpieces or table garlands to add some “wow” to your reception decor. The Karma Hill Photography team also offers additional reception photography.

As you know, here at Simple Oahu Wedding, we LOVE all things wedding!! We love coordinating your special day and we love learning about our sweet couples!! We thought in this downtime it might be nice to give you the chance to learn a little about our team of Oahu wedding coordinators.

Aysha is the head of our fabulous crew! From the moment you contact us, she’s your go-to gal. She’s behind all the emailing and phone calls, and her goal is really to make your wedding day perfect!

If you’d like to learn a little more about Aysha, here you go….

AYSHA

Oahu wedding coordinators
I love wedding planning because I get to be a part of our couples’ happiest day!!! Working with them for over a year sometimes then seeing it all come together for them is truly magical!
– Aysha

Aysha was born in NYC and moved here when she was just 6 years old. She’s practically city-glam meets Aloha spirit! And it reflects in her epic style — when she was younger, Aysha wanted to be a designer! Her 12-year-old daughter, Presley, is as beautiful and smart as can be, pretty much a little mini-me of her mama — but soon this dynamic duo will be a trio! In the next few weeks, Piper, a golden retriever puppy will be welcomed into the fam!

Aysha comes from a surfing family and grew up bombing waves competitively. It’s little wonder her favorite hangout spot on Oahu is the North Shore — the waves don’t get much better than that! She’s ah-mazing at catching those waves, but she says her little brother (who’s on his way to becoming a pro) makes her look like a rookie! She’s still #1 in our book!

Our lead coordinator has a standout personality! Aysha’s always laughing and full of energy — and her food faves are just as popping! Give this queen anything spicy! If you’re on Oahu, drop by her favorite restaurant, Doraku. And if you’re planning a trip around the world, maybe one day you’ll spot her at Greek Islands or Madagascar, the two places she’s set on visiting!

Other Coordinators

Oli

Oahu wedding coordinators
“This career as sincerely been my most favorite passion I have had the honor of working. I knew it was the one when I did not feel like we worked at all! We celebrate love! We also get to use our creative minds to be organized for someone else who is feeling stressed or overwhelmed about their big day!”
– Oli

Hau’olilani, AKA “Oli,” is another one of our fantastic Oahu wedding coordinators. She’s a local girl to the core. Originally from Hale’iwa, Hawaii, her grandmother received Hawaiian Homestead in Princess Kahanu Estates located in Nanakuli, and she’s lived there since 1995.

Oli lives with an adorable fur baby. Her 5 lb black Pomeranian is named Ikipea, which means Little Bear in Hawaiian because he looks like a small bear cub! We wonder if he’s as good at bodyboarding as she is! Bodyboarding is this Oahu wedding coordinator’s thing! If you see a bright neon green board and a female bodyboarder in bright orange and blue, that’s Oli! This goddess is dedicated to the craft! She studies female bodyboarders on Youtube to learn their tricks!

After a great boarding session, you might find Oli at Tanioka’s because they have the best poi and li hing mui Gummy bears on the island!

MAI

Oahu wedding coordinators
“I love being a part of someone’s special day and contributing to an exciting time in their lives.”
– Mai

Samai goes by her nickname “Mai.” She’s got a heart of gold and is truly a world traveler! Mai was born in Laos and spent 3 years living in a refugee camp in Thailand until her family immigrated to California when she was 6 years old. After growing up in Santa Barbara, Mai lived in Japan for 4 years and then moved to Hawaii where she’s been for the last 2 years.

Mai has a 19-year-old son named Keanu and two fur babies: a 6-year-old cockapoo named Kintai, and Kozu, a 3-year-old poodle she rescued while she was in Japan (we told you she had a heart of gold!).

If Mai could travel anywhere in the world she’d visit East Asia because there’s so much to explore! And the food is also incredible! Mai’s favorite cuisines are Thai, Vietnamese, and Korean. This Oahu wedding coordinator is a foodie and knows her way around her spices! Mai hosts a themed dinner every month. June was a seafood boil and July will be taco bar night. (Sorry, she doesn’t sell tickets!). Mai’s other hobbies include making macrame, creating Haku lei po’o, and tending to her plants. (Check out the pics above for some of her creations!)

Vy

Oahu wedding coordinators
“I love first looks! That is my favorite moment for every wedding.”
– Vy

Vy is an Oahu girl, born and raised! She knows all the ins and outs of the island and grew up using Oahu as her playground. But if she could travel anywhere in the world, she’d visit France, which is understandable because there’s so much to see there! We’d LOVE to get some pics of Vy on the top of the Eiffel Tower! This awesome Oahu wedding coordinator belongs on the top of the world!

Mochi is Vy’s sweet Shih Tzu. The fact that Vy named her fur baby “mochi” is no surprise because Vy LOVES Japanese food! Her favorite Oahu restaurant is Sushi ii, and she enjoys cooking as a hobby and checking out new restaurants for surprise favorite dishes!

Photographers

Now that you’ve met our Oahu wedding coordinators, come meet our photographers! Our team consists of 4 amazing photographers. They’ve all been trained by and work under Karma Hill Photography, bringing the iconic gorgeous airy style into their photos to capture the joy of your special day!

MEGAN

“I love that this career always feels “new” because every client/wedding is different.”
– Megan

Megan is from Kauai, and her family and friends know her as “Megs.” She has two cats, Ollie (no relation to our own Oli) and Nugget (no relation to a chicken).

Megan loves all food as long as it’s not too spicy! Her favorites are Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Hawaiian, and Greek, and her favorite Oahu restaurant is the Curry House. If you haven’t tried the Japanese-local style curry at this Oahu fave, you should totally make it a pit-stop!

When she was just a kiddo, Megan wanted to have a career that allowed her to be “rich enough to help everyone in need”… how sweet is that?! When she grew a little older and realized that it would be hard for any single person to do, she decided she wanted to be an astronomer, or a paleontologist, or an architect… or a painter… or a photographer! We see a theme here… discovery meets art! Which makes a whole lot of sense because Megan has loads of skill when it comes to discovering unique personalities and moments and then capturing them behind the lens!

But Megan’s drive to create doesn’t just stop at the lens — she’s currently getting her hands dirty with woodworking and concrete! This is a woman of talent!

MIKE

“Photography and videography don’t feel like work to me.  Every day and location is different. I love the open schedule and having free time to do other hobbies”
– Mike

Mike is our only guy on the team — and this Oahu wedding photographer is a king! Hailing from Campbell, California Mike likes to keep it simple. He has no nickname, no kids, and no pets, but he’s got endless skills behind the lens! Who needs all the complications when your Oahu wedding photos are as streamlined and gorgeous as Mike’s??

Mike is happy on any beach in Oahu and would love to visit Bali or New Zealand, maybe even while visiting some of their best Indian restaurants!

When Mike was little, he wanted to be either a designer or an architect, which is reflected in his carefully designed photos. But now he busies himself by playing drums, surfing, gardening, cooking, and cutting his friends’ hair! These are essential skills to have during the lockdowns! As far as we know, Mike is not taking reservations for his epic barber creations!

JASMINE

“I love being able to spend my time outdoors for my job!”
– Jasmine

Jasmine (AKA Jazz) was born in Iowa and came to Hawaii with a college internship. She doesn’t have any pets, but she has two amazing little boys named Kainoa and Kekoa (see the pics above for all the cuteness!).

When you meet Jasmine, you’ll notice how energetic and lively she is. In case you’re curious, her special secret is her diet, which consists of 3 foods: chocolate, coffee, and pizza from Bob’s in Kailua. Sweetness from the chocolate, check! Endless energy from the coffee, check! And a well-rounded personality from the pizza, check! No wonder why this queen is so easy going and on top of it!

Jasmine loves to spend the day riding bikes around Kailua or hanging at the beach with her boys. If she could travel anywhere in the world it would be to Petra, Jordan, Egypt, and Morocco. She surfs everyday and she’s always sure to bring a book. This photographer reads 2 books… A WEEK!

Pinky

“I love connecting with people and capturing their memories!”
– Pinky

Pinky (Yep, her nickname is Pink… how cool is that?!) was born and raised on the island of Kauai. She moved to Oahu in 1998 for college and fell in love with the atmosphere!

She may not have any fur babies, but she has human ones! Cole and Mia are her adorable kiddos and the loves of her life. If she could travel anywhere, she’d take her fam to Italy. And her kids would probably LOVE it (Pizza, anyone?)

Pinky loves Filipino and Japanese food, but she can’t choose just one favorite Oahu restaurant. Any eatery in Haleiwa will hit the spot!

Besides photography, she loves fitness. She was obsessed with Zumba and even got certified to teach it! But this go-getter didn’t stop there… Pinky also got certified in a handful of other formats! There’s no stopping her!
