What does it take to find love halfway around the world? For Robin and Mitchell, it started with a chance encounter during their military service in Korea. From there, they embarked on a long-distance relationship that spanned two years until they finally found their way to Alaska. We were delighted to bring their vision to life and excited to share the story of their beautiful Oahu venue wedding, filled with love, laughter, and a touch of paradise!

Curious to know more about our happy pair’s beginning? Robin and Mitchell’s love story began in Korea, where they crossed paths through work. After their military service, they faced the challenges of a long-distance relationship for two years until they made the bold move to live together in Alaska. With their three adorable dogs by their side, they built a life filled with shared interests like watching movies, playing video games, and simply enjoying each other’s company.

Choosing a wedding venue can be a daunting task, especially when families are spread across different states. Robin’s family lived in California, while Mitchell’s hailed from Texas. The stress of planning and deciding on a location was becoming overwhelming. Thankfully, Mitchell suggested Hawaii as a backup plan, and Robin embraced the idea with open arms!

Ready For The Next Chapter

As the sun shone down on Paradise Cove, Robin and Mitchell’s wedding day unfolded in all its glory. The anticipation grew as Mitchell eagerly awaited his first glimpse of his beautiful bride during their heartwarming first look. It was a tender moment filled with excitement and love, setting the tone for the rest of their ceremony.

As Robin walked down the aisle, she looked absolutely stunning, radiating joy and happiness. Mitchell’s eyes lit up as he took in the sight of his bride, ready to embark on this new chapter together. With their shared love for video games, books, and all things nerdy (in their own words!), their connection grew stronger by the day. And when sparks flew on a dating app, destiny had something extraordinary in store for them.

Their first date was nothing short of magical. Nerdvana, a coffee shop that truly lived up to its name, witnessed the birth of their love story. They talked for hours, engrossed in each other’s stories and passions. From that moment on, it was clear that they were meant to be together!

Fast forward to last year, during a vacation to Disneyland. It was there, amidst the enchantment and joy, that James seized the perfect opportunity to pop the question. It was a sweet moment that filled their hearts with even more love and excitement. They knew then that an intimate celebration of their vows was calling them in Hawaii…

Hawaii Called Us

Originally planning to get married in Maui, the wildfires led them to change their plans and embrace the neighboring island of Oahu. Our coordinators made the transition seamless and easy for our happy pair. And what a breathtaking decision it turned out to be! As they stood on the serene Waialae Beach, the sun casting its golden hues upon them, Sara and James radiated pure happiness.

Their Oahu elopement was casual, relaxed, and everything they had dreamt of. With just the two of them, hand in hand, they exchanged their heartfelt vows. Their love shone brightly against the picturesque backdrop of Oahu’s beauty. It was a romantic and intimate celebration, perfectly tailored to their unique bond.

Love knows no age limit, and for Jody and Steven, their journey of love began in their 60s. Both retired Air Traffic Controllers with grown children from previous marriages had experienced life’s ups and downs before finding each other. Their common interests in saltwater fishing and travel brought them closer.

The magic of Christmas 2022 brought an extra special gift for Jody when Steven asked her to marry him. It was a moment filled with joy and excitement, knowing they were about to embark on a new chapter of their lives together. Radiant in their cream gowns and adorned with matching tropical bouquets, Laura and Holly beamed in their newlywed bliss. Tyler and Every’s Oahu elopement was the pinnacle of their love story! It was a lighthearted and romantic affair. We are so excited to share Gellie and Ronnie’s Oahu beach wedding! The sun-kissed beaches, the gentle ocean breeze, and the enchanting beauty of the island made it a perfect destination for our high school sweethearts to tie the knot. Gellie and Ronnie realized this dream as they exchanged vows on the picturesque shores of the island’s east side. They chose an Oahu wedding because they’ve always wanted to do a beach wedding, but it wasn’t possible for a church wedding in the Philippines in 2024. But they were already planning on doing a civil wedding anyway, and they were already going on a family trip to Hawaii. So they thought since they would already be in Oahu with their family, why not get married there?! Brilliant idea! They will also be able to hold their church wedding next year too!

Gellie and Ronnie were head over heels in love, and their wedding day celebrated their deep bond. With anticipation and excitement in their hearts, they eagerly awaited this beautiful day; they absolutely LOVE the beach!

Surrounded by their closest family and friends, the atmosphere was filled with pure joy. Everyone present felt incredibly blessed to witness and be a part of Gellie and Ronnie’s special moment. Love was in the air and in the ocean breeze, as you’ll see below!

Meant To Be

Ronnie and Gellie’s love story began in the most unexpected of places – their senior year honors arts class. It was Gellie’s favorite class, her sanctuary amidst the chaos of high school. Little did they know that their paths would intertwine in a way that would change their lives forever.

Although they didn’t know each other well at first, Ronnie and Gellie found themselves engaging in casual conversations from time to time. But it wasn’t until a year after high school, about 13 years ago, that their friendship blossomed into something more. On August 22, 2010, they officially became a couple, marking the beginning of a beautiful journey together.

Their love story took an enchanting turn when, exactly 12 years later, on August 22, 2022, during a vacation in the Philippines, Ronnie decided to take their relationship to the next level. It was a magical moment, almost midnight, by the shimmering waters of a beach. With the stars as witnesses, Ronnie got down on one knee and proposed to Gellie, sealing their love for a lifetime!

Beachy Simplicity

Kualoa Regional Park Beach provided an exquisite backdrop for their wedding ceremony! With the ocean waves gently crashing against the shore, Gellie and Ronnie stood hand in hand, ready to embark on this incredible adventure as husband and wife. The setting was nothing short of magical, capturing the essence of their love.

Everyone arrived in the best of spirits, dressed in pristine white attire! Ronnie and Gellie included traditional Cambodian and Filipino elements in their elegant wedding attire too! The purity and simplicity of their outfits perfectly complemented the natural beauty surrounding them. It was a sight to behold, a sea of white against the vibrant blue of the ocean and the sandy shore.

As they exchanged their heartfelt vows, there was so much joy in everyone’s hearts and smiles. Their love spilled over, touching the hearts of everyone present at their wedding. We are so happy this family vacation turned out to be the perfect opportunity for an Oahu beach wedding!
