You know that trope where two people meet in high school, lose touch, and then fate (okay, fine, a dating app) brings them back together years later? Yeah. That’s Tyler and Ray. And their Oahu beach wedding at Waialae Beach? It was the perfect blend of laid-back island vibes and a love story straight out of a rom-com.

These two Southern California sweethearts first crossed paths in the very high school where Ray now teaches ceramic arts. (We love a full-circle moment.) Fast forward a few years, one heartfelt oceanfront proposal in July 2024, and voilà, they’re saying “I do” barefoot in the sand, surrounded by the people who love them most.

And honestly? It was so them. Relaxed. Joyful. Unapologetically full of sunshine and laughter. Tyler, looking absolutely stunning with waves in her hair and salt in the air, radiated bridal glow. Ray couldn’t stop smiling. And Leland, Tyler’s 12-year-old son, was right there with them, which made the whole thing feel even more like the beginning of a beautiful chapter.

They exchanged vows with toes in the sand, the Pacific as their backdrop, and a soft breeze that made everything feel just a little more cinematic. They kept things beautifully simple, choosing an incredible, intimate ceremony that felt true to them in every way. No huge crowds, no over-the-top production, just heartfelt vows, a gentle breeze, and the kind of love that makes you believe in forever.

On Cloud Nine

Their portraits? Postcard-worthy. Like, “should we put this on a calendar?” level gorgeous. Between the glowy Oahu light, those sweet kisses, and the whole “just married and loving it” energy, every photo felt like a dream you’d want to relive forever.

Having first met in 2010 as journalists in Carbondale, Illinois—Dale a newspaper reporter, and Dana a TV reporter—their romance sparked but was dimmed by distance when Dana moved to Ohio for a new job. Despite the miles, Dale kept the connection alive, ensuring Dana wouldn’t forget him. Fast forward to August 2023, fate brought them back together, and this time, it clicked like never before. And after some heartfelt visits, the decision was clear—they wanted forever.

Their enchanting Oahu beach wedding took place at Waialae Beach, with the golden sands and sparkling ocean as witnesses to their love. Dana, a vision of a tropical goddess, adorned a stunning flower crown and a custom bouquet, radiating beauty and joy. Dale embraced the aloha spirit with his vibrant aloha shirt, embodying the laid-back vibe of his beloved Oahu.

Family and friends gathered to celebrate this new chapter, filling the day with warmth and happiness! Erin and Joshua’s Oahu beach wedding was a heartwarming tale of love, resilience, and new beginnings. Joshua, a dedicated police officer, and Erin, an ED nurse, first crossed paths in a rather unconventional setting—the ER. During one memorable shift, Joshua arrested a suspect and brought him in for evaluation, treating Erin’s entire team to lunch and earning the playful moniker “deputy liar” for his generosity. This charming encounter led to a blossoming romance, culminating in a delightful Disneyland proposal two years later.

Originally, Erin and Joshua planned a grand November wedding. However, when a custody situation endangered their son, they pivoted priorities to family safety. Once resolved, they embraced a spontaneous, intimate wedding plan, choosing Hawaii—a dream destination for their son Cully’s 5th birthday, given his love for ocean life!

Their special day unfolded at Wai’alae Beach Park, where the sun shone brilliantly, framing their vows with nature’s elegance. The couple’s three children, Peyton, Cully, and Nyx, added joy and playfulness to the ceremony, making it a true family affair. We love how they wore matching light green outfits! As horse enthusiasts, with Joshua as a Reiner and Erin as a barrel racer, their shared passions and love for adventure mirrored the vibrant, joyful energy of the day.

Have you ever dreamed of a beach wedding that combines the beauty of the ocean with the joy of family? Caitlin and Robinson’s Oahu beach wedding was exactly that – a beautiful, happy, and incredibly special celebration.

Together for the past 17 years, Caitlin and Robinson share two sweet girls, ages nine and six. While Robinson works as a digital designer and Caitlin handles medical records from home, they consider themselves homebodies who love spending time together as a family. With two fur babies at home completing their household, they cherish their time at the beach, frequently visiting the Oregon coast during the summer. Family means everything to them!

Their decision to have a small beach wedding in Oahu was a perfect blend of their love for the beach and the desire to create a memorable vacation for their guests. Interestingly, they booked their wedding before getting engaged, wanting to ensure their loved ones had plenty of time to plan and save for the trip. This unconventional yet very considerate approach added a unique charm to their story! And as you’ll see it was a wonderful day!
