As you know, here at Simple Oahu Wedding, we LOVE all things wedding!! We love coordinating your special day and we love learning about our sweet couples!! We thought in this downtime it might be nice to give you the chance to learn a little about our team of Oahu wedding coordinators.
Aysha is the head of our fabulous crew! From the moment you contact us, she’s your go-to gal. She’s behind all the emailing and phone calls, and her goal is really to make your wedding day perfect!
If you’d like to learn a little more about Aysha, here you go….

Aysha was born in NYC and moved here when she was just 6 years old. She’s practically city-glam meets Aloha spirit! And it reflects in her epic style — when she was younger, Aysha wanted to be a designer! Her 12-year-old daughter, Presley, is as beautiful and smart as can be, pretty much a little mini-me of her mama — but soon this dynamic duo will be a trio! In the next few weeks, Piper, a golden retriever puppy will be welcomed into the fam!
Aysha comes from a surfing family and grew up bombing waves competitively. It’s little wonder her favorite hangout spot on Oahu is the North Shore — the waves don’t get much better than that! She’s ah-mazing at catching those waves, but she says her little brother (who’s on his way to becoming a pro) makes her look like a rookie! She’s still #1 in our book!
Our lead coordinator has a standout personality! Aysha’s always laughing and full of energy — and her food faves are just as popping! Give this queen anything spicy! If you’re on Oahu, drop by her favorite restaurant, Doraku. And if you’re planning a trip around the world, maybe one day you’ll spot her at Greek Islands or Madagascar, the two places she’s set on visiting!
Other Coordinators

Hau’olilani, AKA “Oli,” is another one of our fantastic Oahu wedding coordinators. She’s a local girl to the core. Originally from Hale’iwa, Hawaii, her grandmother received Hawaiian Homestead in Princess Kahanu Estates located in Nanakuli, and she’s lived there since 1995.
Oli lives with an adorable fur baby. Her 5 lb black Pomeranian is named Ikipea, which means Little Bear in Hawaiian because he looks like a small bear cub! We wonder if he’s as good at bodyboarding as she is! Bodyboarding is this Oahu wedding coordinator’s thing! If you see a bright neon green board and a female bodyboarder in bright orange and blue, that’s Oli! This goddess is dedicated to the craft! She studies female bodyboarders on Youtube to learn their tricks!
After a great boarding session, you might find Oli at Tanioka’s because they have the best poi and li hing mui Gummy bears on the island!

Samai goes by her nickname “Mai.” She’s got a heart of gold and is truly a world traveler! Mai was born in Laos and spent 3 years living in a refugee camp in Thailand until her family immigrated to California when she was 6 years old. After growing up in Santa Barbara, Mai lived in Japan for 4 years and then moved to Hawaii where she’s been for the last 2 years.
Mai has a 19-year-old son named Keanu and two fur babies: a 6-year-old cockapoo named Kintai, and Kozu, a 3-year-old poodle she rescued while she was in Japan (we told you she had a heart of gold!).
If Mai could travel anywhere in the world she’d visit East Asia because there’s so much to explore! And the food is also incredible! Mai’s favorite cuisines are Thai, Vietnamese, and Korean. This Oahu wedding coordinator is a foodie and knows her way around her spices! Mai hosts a themed dinner every month. June was a seafood boil and July will be taco bar night. (Sorry, she doesn’t sell tickets!). Mai’s other hobbies include making macrame, creating Haku lei po’o, and tending to her plants. (Check out the pics above for some of her creations!)

Vy is an Oahu girl, born and raised! She knows all the ins and outs of the island and grew up using Oahu as her playground. But if she could travel anywhere in the world, she’d visit France, which is understandable because there’s so much to see there! We’d LOVE to get some pics of Vy on the top of the Eiffel Tower! This awesome Oahu wedding coordinator belongs on the top of the world!
Mochi is Vy’s sweet Shih Tzu. The fact that Vy named her fur baby “mochi” is no surprise because Vy LOVES Japanese food! Her favorite Oahu restaurant is Sushi ii, and she enjoys cooking as a hobby and checking out new restaurants for surprise favorite dishes!
Planning an Oahu wedding in Hawaii? Or are you just hoping to elope in the world’s most beautiful venues? We’re here to make your wedding easy and stress-free!

Now that you’ve met our Oahu wedding coordinators, come meet our photographers! Our team consists of 4 amazing photographers. They’ve all been trained by and work under Karma Hill Photography, bringing the iconic gorgeous airy style into their photos to capture the joy of your special day!

Megan is from Kauai, and her family and friends know her as “Megs.” She has two cats, Ollie (no relation to our own Oli) and Nugget (no relation to a chicken).
Megan loves all food as long as it’s not too spicy! Her favorites are Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Hawaiian, and Greek, and her favorite Oahu restaurant is the Curry House. If you haven’t tried the Japanese-local style curry at this Oahu fave, you should totally make it a pit-stop!
When she was just a kiddo, Megan wanted to have a career that allowed her to be “rich enough to help everyone in need”… how sweet is that?! When she grew a little older and realized that it would be hard for any single person to do, she decided she wanted to be an astronomer, or a paleontologist, or an architect… or a painter… or a photographer! We see a theme here… discovery meets art! Which makes a whole lot of sense because Megan has loads of skill when it comes to discovering unique personalities and moments and then capturing them behind the lens!
But Megan’s drive to create doesn’t just stop at the lens — she’s currently getting her hands dirty with woodworking and concrete! This is a woman of talent!

Mike is our only guy on the team — and this Oahu wedding photographer is a king! Hailing from Campbell, California Mike likes to keep it simple. He has no nickname, no kids, and no pets, but he’s got endless skills behind the lens! Who needs all the complications when your Oahu wedding photos are as streamlined and gorgeous as Mike’s??
Mike is happy on any beach in Oahu and would love to visit Bali or New Zealand, maybe even while visiting some of their best Indian restaurants!
When Mike was little, he wanted to be either a designer or an architect, which is reflected in his carefully designed photos. But now he busies himself by playing drums, surfing, gardening, cooking, and cutting his friends’ hair! These are essential skills to have during the lockdowns! As far as we know, Mike is not taking reservations for his epic barber creations!

Jasmine (AKA Jazz) was born in Iowa and came to Hawaii with a college internship. She doesn’t have any pets, but she has two amazing little boys named Kainoa and Kekoa (see the pics above for all the cuteness!).
When you meet Jasmine, you’ll notice how energetic and lively she is. In case you’re curious, her special secret is her diet, which consists of 3 foods: chocolate, coffee, and pizza from Bob’s in Kailua. Sweetness from the chocolate, check! Endless energy from the coffee, check! And a well-rounded personality from the pizza, check! No wonder why this queen is so easy going and on top of it!
Jasmine loves to spend the day riding bikes around Kailua or hanging at the beach with her boys. If she could travel anywhere in the world it would be to Petra, Jordan, Egypt, and Morocco. She surfs everyday and she’s always sure to bring a book. This photographer reads 2 books… A WEEK!

Pinky (Yep, her nickname is Pink… how cool is that?!) was born and raised on the island of Kauai. She moved to Oahu in 1998 for college and fell in love with the atmosphere!
She may not have any fur babies, but she has human ones! Cole and Mia are her adorable kiddos and the loves of her life. If she could travel anywhere, she’d take her fam to Italy. And her kids would probably LOVE it (Pizza, anyone?)
Pinky loves Filipino and Japanese food, but she can’t choose just one favorite Oahu restaurant. Any eatery in Haleiwa will hit the spot!
Besides photography, she loves fitness. She was obsessed with Zumba and even got certified to teach it! But this go-getter didn’t stop there… Pinky also got certified in a handful of other formats! There’s no stopping her!
We hope you enjoyed getting to know us as much as we adore getting to know you! If you’re planning on an Oahu wedding, come read our comprehensive article on how to travel during the pandemic: Avoid Hawaii Quarantine – Having a Wedding in Hawaii During COVID 19
We can’t wait to meet you!

If you’re planning a wedding on Oahu, there’s no venue more intimate or more secluded than Kualoa Ranch’s Secret Island. Tucked away in the sacred valleys and bordered by a white sand beach, this Oahu wedding location is family owned and operated, which means consistent quality and a true Aloha experience. All of our Oahu wedding venues offer unique beauty and charm, but a Kualoa Ranch Wedding is unparalleled in its ability to create a once in a lifetime experience enveloped in the authentic beauty of Old Hawaii.
Set away from the world of commercialism, Kualoa Ranch is a pristine nature reserve, and as such, booking a reception here requires a few unique steps. Follow along and we’ll guide you through the process of having your dream wedding on Oahu at this gorgeous location.

Kualoa Ranch’s Secret Island is one of the few privately owned beaches in Hawaii. This means the state’s beach wedding restrictions don’t apply, so there’s an abundance of flexibility, which means arches and seats are allowed on the sand. You can choose one of our gorgeous ceremony arches or simply go with the down-to-earth appeal of going arch-less.
Keep in mind at this Oahu wedding venue the direction of your ceremony is incredibly important when determining your wedding setup. With sweeping panoramic views, Kualoa Ranch’s Secret Island offers unique and breathtaking backdrops. You can choose to have your ceremony face a tropical shoreline, the rustic lush valleys, or the glistening aqua ocean. If you prefer soft greenery beneath your feet, there’s even a grassy ceremony area that overlooks the oceanfront.

Custom arches add stature and grace to any ceremony, and when these beauties are placed on the shore of Secret Island, you’ll have a beach wedding that perfectly incorporates the traditional elements of a venue. Because of the remote location and the time it takes for our vendors to travel to the island for set-up and break-down, arch pricing starts at around $1,200 and goes up from there depending on the selected florals.

Because of the vast size of the reserve, the shore of Secret Island is only accessible via boat. You’ll sail over an ancient Hawaiian fish pond and soak in the beauty as you approach the lush green valleys. This stretch of water is calm and tranquil like a lake — so it should be gentle on even the most sensitive of stomachs! When you arrive, you’ll follow a short trail through a forest to find your ceremony location: a pristine sandy shore with the breathtaking ocean in the backdrop.
You have the option to accommodate your party with separate boat rides, and we’ll help you coordinate the order of who reaches the island first. You may want to take the voyage with your entire crew, or have them sail first and reserve the second trip for just the two of you, or have the bride journey last and keep her bridal look a secret until the very last moment.
To give you an idea of how things are usually arranged, here’s an example of the timing during a Kualoa Ranch wedding on Oahu:

Kualoa Ranch prefers to collect the site fee directly from the clients, so once you book our Secret Island Package, we’ll put you in contact with the ranch and help you coordinate your payment.
This site fee is calculated directly into our Secret Island Wedding Package, which means the total cost will not increase. For example, as of June 2020, our Secret Island Wedding Package costs $5,695 and the site fee for the venue is $2,095 plus the 50 chairs at $5 each. After you’ve paid these charges directly to the venue, we will deduct it from your package cost and bring the remaining price down to $3,600.
There are a couple of things to keep in mind as you book:
The options for family and group portraits at this venue are endless! One of the many perks of having a wedding on Oahu is the opportunity to capture unforgettable portraits with all of your closest loved ones. We work exclusively with the talented Karma Hill Photography team, so if you have any “dream shots” we’ll communicate with your photographer to turn those dreams into a reality. Family portraits on the boat, on the shore, in front of the valleys, on the dock — there’s no limit to the stunning backdrops!

Of course, a wedding at Secret Island wouldn’t be complete without spectacular couples portraits! This venue is unparalleled in its beauty and is perfect for a couple who wants to surround themselves in a true tropical oasis.

Kualoa Ranch not only has glistening white sands, but this locale also has endless greenery and rustic natural backdrops to give your photos a touch of wild wonder. If you’re seeking a wedding on Oahu that captures both the forest and beach atmospheres of Hawaii, Secret Island can’t be beaten.

Kualoa Ranch requires that the same coordinator that plans your ceremony also plans your reception.
However, because we only plan ceremonies, hosting a reception at this venue is not an option. But this works out great for couples looking for a reception that’s special yet simple — and affordable! Save some change and plan a nice dinner at a nearby restaurant after your ceremony with us. All the restaurants we refer to have a great staff that can help you arrange your reception details, and you can reserve a private or semi-private space with them. This way you don’t have to bring an entire restaurant to a separate location, and you don’t have to pay someone to plan it for you!

If you have any questions about this venue or any of the other services we offer, don’t hesitate to contact us! We’d love to hear from you as you plan your wedding on Oahu!

Victoria and Jamell’s Oahu beach wedding was beautiful, elegant, and entirely unforgettable. This was our fist wedding since the lockdowns began, and we couldn’t have been luckier to have such an amazing couple saying “I do.” Victoria and Jamell have served 20 years in the Army and Marines combined, and it was our immense pleasure to coordinate their very special day. These two lovebirds reside on Oahu and have two baby dachshunds named Mickey and Eli (keep scrolling for the cutest pic!).
As a beautiful and high-tech way to share their Oahu beach wedding with their family, Victoria and Jamell had the occasion live-streamed by a friend, swaying palms and all! And keeping with the high-tech theme (Victoria is an IT specialist after all), this gorgeous couple met online and it was instant chemistry! It only took a year for Jamell to pop the big question — on his lunch break! When you know, you know! Keep scrolling for all of the unbelievably cute moments!

Due to the epidemic, Victoria wasn’t able to have her wedding dress modified in time. So this wise techy couple said hello to Amazon and decked themselves in casual yet gorgeous Oahu beach wedding attire. Linen slacks, hello! Beachy lace dress, yes please! And a sunny button down all make for the perfect casual yet elegant wedding style.

Can we pause a second to state the obvious? How incredibly gorgeous and sincere are these two?? Victoria and Jamell share a special connection — their love was endless and a joy to be around.

After the big “I do,” our sister company Karma Hill Photography whisked our couple away to capture some pretty epic Jeep shots. With wheels like these, who wouldn’t give it a cameo on their big day?

Mahalo nui loa, Victoria and Jamell, for choosing us to coordinate your Oahu beach wedding. Thank you for your service, and we can’t wait to hear about all of your adventures! We wish you the very best in the years ahead.

Having a Hawaii wedding offers endless beauty in itself, but adding a few personalized touches here and there can really highlight your unique love story on your Special Day. We cherish all the little additions our clients have brought to their ceremonies, so we’ve collected some of our favorite Oahu destination wedding ideas to share on our blog!
If you’re looking for Hawaii wedding details, we’ve got plenty of ideas and a ton of inspiration from our clients that we LOVE!
The moments before you say “I do” are destined to become sweet and special memories of your Big Day. Our sister company, Karma Hill Photography, specializes in capturing the details that showcase your personality. From custom bridal robes and t-shirts to personalized hangers, these items make for great photographs to add to your wedding collection!

Another piece that deserves some attention are all the details that shimmer and shine! Of course, the wedding rings are a must, but you put time and thought into earrings and necklaces and everything in between, so why shouldn’t they be memorialized?

You can also bring those gorgeous rings and personalized ring boxes to the beach!! You don’t have to have “getting-ready” coverage to get those sentimental items photographed! Soft white sand and dark rugged lava rocks make for a gorgeous textured background for your Hawaii wedding details!

These one-of-a-kind trinkets are so personal and special, and we absolutely ADORE them! Bouquet charms frame and display the dearest things to your heart, sometimes remembering a loved one and sometimes just sharing your personal journey. Whatever they represent, we want you to know that we treasure them too. We can help you select a custom bouquet with colors and blooms that emphasize the story behind your charms, and the Karma Hill Photography team will take special care to capture every sweet frame, so you can forever cherish these lovely wedding day additions.

These words come straight from the heart!! We love to hear the special sentiments you share on your Big Day, sometimes we even shed a tear or two. Although reading from cellphones definitely does the trick, we adore these special little booklets for sharing your vows. These are perfect Hawaii wedding details to be kept forever and cherished for generations!

These mementos aren’t for everyone, especially if you’re eloping or just having a few guests. But if you do make them, bring them!! We were invited to your wedding, so we need to see all that loveliness that you put so much time and effort into creating! These will keep well in your memory box along with your vow booklets, and will make great additions to your photo collection.

The beach is the most beautiful backdrop you could ask for, but adding a little decor never hurts! One of our favorite Oahu destination wedding ideas is to bring fun little (State-approved) details to decorate the sand–or ask us how we can help spice things up a bit! We can add some flair to your beach wedding if you wish!! Ask us about our styled beach setup options!

Another great way to add some color and style to your wedding is with a unique arch! Each of our beautiful affordable wedding venues has the option to add a custom arch, and with vivid floral decor or greenery, you’ll have an “I do” backdrop that really pops! While beach ceremonies are always stunning, you have much more flexibility with the decor at a Oahu wedding venue! If you want a beach location with an arch, Kualoa Secret Island is the perfect spot! It’s the only place on the island where you can have an arch and chairs on the sand. Ask our coordinators for more details.

These little items aren’t always in the cards because you don’t really need them on the beach. We do love them though!! Your kicks really show off your personality. Whether they’re extravagant Badgley Mischka’s or your good ole’ cowboy boots, we want to see them! And our sister company wants to photograph them, of course!

These hidden gems add fabulous flair and we love to get surprise glimpses of them! While pineapples and blue stripes are perfect for the beach, you can’t ignore that sweet little sloth pictured here! Is it just us, or does everyone want a baby sloth?? Having a special someone who’s not afraid to rock the sloth socks is the next best thing!

This one is immensely important! We all know it! While of course, the bride will be looking her best, we think it’s key to let the guys shine a little too with stylish Hawaii groom wedding attire! Let them bring in some personality with prints, whether it’s all over the outside, tucked inside the jacket, or on a tie or napkin in the pocket adorned by a charm! No matter what your personality is like, we want to embrace it!

Another great way to personalize the Groom Swag is to have embroidery done! This moment is so special and so memorable, and having that stamp of personalization really makes it official. After all, this isn’t just another suit, it’s your wedding gear.

Signage is gorgeous and fitting! And remember, you don’t have to have a reception to have a sign! Just check out the brilliant ways signs were used in the weddings below! One was set up on the beach to welcome guests, and one was even used as a fabulous reminder to the Groom: the little guy in the bottom left holds a sign that reads, “Daddy, Are You Ready? Here Comes Mommy!” It doesn’t get much sweeter than that!

These classic add-ons are another great way to bring a personal touch to your wedding day. Whether you’re having a cake cutting at your reception, or adding our “cake-package” option on the beach, a cake topper or personalized cake slicer is always welcome!

These guest-favorites aren’t always something you’ll need to think about because you may be escaping the wedding planning at home and eloping!! If you do have guests though, a Hawaiian themed favor is fun and special! You could also give a sweet gift to your life partner. Who says only the guests get to indulge in the offerings? Surprising your special someone with personalized letters or sweet mementos will add a touch of spontaneity to your Big Day.

There are so many Oahu destination wedding ideas! As long as you incorporate details that you love, the options are limitless.
Here are a few other great concepts that we’ve seen recently: a Pineapple themed guest frame, a beautiful flower girl basket, a book celebrating the life of a lost family member who is with you in spirit on your wedding day, a personal hankie for Dad (tear!), and a custom cake platter with a beautiful quote and your wedding date! The possibilities are endless!! What Hawaii wedding details will you weave into your Big Day?

Since we’re at the tail end of May, we thought it was the perfect time to celebrate the many gorgeous bouquets of our Oahu brides. After all, “May Day” is one of our favorite Hawaiian holidays! On the first of the month, kiddos and adults alike sport their best aloha gear to celebrate Hawaiian traditions like lie making and hula — and instead of ribbons or balloons, the room decor is simply blooms of endless florals! It might be a little late in the month, but we wanted to share the spirit of May Day with all of you to bring some aloha to wherever you are in the world!
We’ve sorted these 40 Hawaii wedding bouquets from real Oahu brides into 3 categories: Spring & Pastel, Tropical & Vibrant, and Leafy & Green. For the bride who can’t get enough of our Hawaiian sunsets, the tropical & vibrant style is total eye-candy! With king proteas, ginger, and anthurium sitting front and center, these bouquets bring a touch of the Aloha spirit to your Big Day.
Several of the following bouquets were custom made to meet the bride’s requests, but most are our Rustic Hawaiian Bouquet, one of four gorgeously designed floral options available in our wedding packages. With fiery orange, vivid reds, and just the right amount of mellow yellow and baby pink, this bouquet style is like holding a mini sunset between your hands!

Come see what other gorgeous add-ons we offer!

Goddess green is one of the biggest trends in Hawaii wedding bouquets — with ferns, succulents, eucalyptus, and lush tropical leaves to choose from, this style is anything but boring!
You can custom create a bouquet and fill it to your heart’s content with endless greenery, or our Boho Dream and White Wedding bouquets might have the simple splash of emerald you’re looking for!

Weddings are obviously our favorite thing! There’s no doubt that helping to create an unforgettable Big Day for you and your partner is really our forté! We love being there for you every step of the way and helping you select your upgrades and add-ons is no exception. We’ve put together some of our favorite Oahu wedding ideas, from addons to upgrades, for you to browse and enjoy as you plan your Big Day!
With hundreds upon thousands of varieties and endless books written on their meaning, flowers are an essential part of any wedding day. They add a personal touch, with color and personality that enhances the beauty that is already upon you.

We offer a gorgeous selection of Oahu wedding bouquets, but sometimes you’d like to add your own style or personal faves to the blooms. For that, we have our custom bouquets! For any bouquet beyond our standard selection, we charge an $85 upgrade fee. That covers any specially requested flowers, alternate colors that the florist normally doesn’t have, and the extra time it takes for the florist to put these beauties together. Add eucalyptus, succulents, anything your heart desires (as long as it’s in season). If you want more bouquet ideas, come check out Simple Maui Wedding’s 100 Beach Wedding Bouquets.

We can also add a beautiful flower crown to match your bouquet. Elevate your florals to a place where goddess meets contemporary! These sweet circlets are traditional staples in the Hawaiian art of hula, and a version can also be found in Roman and Greek literature. Flower crowns cost an extra $125, but the beauty they add to your Oahu wedding is unparalleled! Just check out the images above…

If you have a bridal party, you’ll want to dress them up as well. Your ladies deserve some flower-power on your big Day, so adorn them with an attendant bouquet! These beauties are $125 each and bring a ton of extra blooms (and sweet smells!) to your Oahu wedding.

Orchid Guest Leis are another great option for floral upgrades to enhance your guests’ experience. Show them that you love and appreciate them with a special lei from Hawaii. The costs for guest leis start at $45.

Arches are the perfect addition to your wedding! Unfortunately, they’re restricted on public beaches, but you can include an arch at any of our venues. Adding a beautiful octagonal or circle arch or even just floral decor really adds to it. After all, this addon isn’t just an upgrade… it’s an upgrade to your whole ceremony. Wedding arches act as a frame for the couple and give your guests (and your photographer!) a focal point. Nothing says, “We’re the stars of this day” like a gorgeous arch draped in bursts of tropical florals or sweeping fabric.
Floral Arches vary in cost depending on the venue. Please check with our coordinators for exact pricing.

Beach decor is another great option! Just as a wedding arch does for a venue, beach decor draws the eye and highlights the couple on their Big Day. We can spice up your beach ceremony with a pineapple aisle or flower posts and add some variety to the already gorgeous shore. Pineapple aisles start at $95 and floral posts vary.

Forget the rice, bring on the velvety soft petal toss! Standing with your partner as your loved ones toss florals your way, each petal cascading through the air around you, is so crazy special that there are social media filters to recreate it!
Likewise, lining your aisle with petals allows your flower girl to do that adorable “one petal at a time toss” while ensuring your walkway is properly adorned. Each gallon bag of fresh petals cost $60, and depending on how full you want the aisle, we suggest 2 – 5 bags.

Many Oahu beach weddings begin right at the beach, and that is just fine!! Though we love it when our clients want us to be a part of the whole experience and ask for getting ready photos for the big day!
A lot of precious moments happen in the before hours. When the excitement is high but the ceremony hasn’t yet begun, that’s when true personalities shine bright! Dad’s first look is an unforgettable moment, and so are the sweet exchanges shared between the bride and her Mom, as well as her girls. Because of our photographer’s travel time, getting ready coverage varies depending on where you’re staying in relation to the beach.

Wouldn’t it be nice having a Hawaiian musician serenade you as you walk down the aisle to marry the love of your life? Or sing you a sweet song after you say “I Do” while you dance hand in hand? We think a musician is the perfect addition to an Oahu wedding. The cost for this add on is $350 for 1 hour of music. But just think, anytime you hear that song again, you’ll be carried back to that special moment.

We sure do love when our clients add on a Trash the Dress session! We usually recommend a different day from the wedding. You’re much more relaxed and calm and all the jitters have left you. Once you’ve said “I do” and let it sink in, you’ll be ready to splash and play along the shores of Oahu! Typically, a trash the dress session is $675 an hour, but we offer a special deal for our wedding clients and offer it as an add-on for just $599.

Our custom designed 10×10 wedding album with thick, lay-flat pages is the perfect addition to your photography collection! You get to highlight all your favorite pictures from your big day and show them off on your coffee table for just $699. If the album isn’t your thing, another great option is our custom wooden USB. We print 2 of your favorite pictures on the outside of this gorgeous box and USB and then load it up with your selected pictures! It’s the perfect keepsake for your Oahu wedding!
Of course, the most important add-on you can bring to your Oahu wedding is that awesome glow of yours! We can’t wait to get to know you and help make your dreams come true! For more amazing add-on ideas for your Hawaii wedding, come browse our Oahu wedding beach packages and Oahu wedding venue packages. Scroll all the way to the bottom for a bulleted list of what we offer!

In this simple guide, you’ll find the best beaches and venues for the ultimate Oahu military wedding. Plus, we’ve included a ton of tips to help make your Big Day experience as easy as possible. From Hawaii military lodging and military discounts to scenic adventures, we’ve got your planning covered!
Oahu has the 4th largest military workforce in the country, with over 20,000 men and women proudly serving our islands. At Simple Oahu Wedding, we honor and deeply value the members and veterans of our armed forces. And to show our appreciation, we offer a 5% discount off of our base Oahu wedding packages!
Follow along as we go over a handful of our favorite Oahu wedding locations and highlight plenty of military perks!

In the heart of Makua, Yokohama Beach features pristine waters and white sands beneath the foothills of the Waianae Mountains. In Hawaiian “makua” translates to “parent.” Legend has it that this area is the place where humans first walked the earth.
Disney’s Aulani Resort is a quick car ride away from Yokohama Beach. This resort has everything you’d ever want in a Hawaii vacation. Pools, pools, and then some. Spas, hot tubs, and mellow bars. All are packaged in a nostalgic Disney theme to please the kids (and the kid inside you). Aulani is currently offering a 35% military discount for weekday stays from April 16th to June 11th, 2020. However, they’re likely to periodically offer deals throughout the years to come.
Situated on the dry and sunny Leeward Coast, this rustic area is spotted with small towns and rolling hills. With plenty of beaches and hole-in-the-wall gems to discover, Makua is a must-see destination for anyone wanting to experience the “real” Hawaii.
If you choose to say “I do” on this breathtaking shore, consider treating yourself to a mini-dinner reception. Discover unforgettable flavors at the world-renowned Roy’s or the Cattle Company Steakhouse.
Just minutes away from Yokohama Beach and near Kaena Point on the coastline, you can find the Makua Military Reservation (MMR). Located 18 miles from Schofield Barracks, this military training site boasts 4,856 acres and a helicopter landing pad. However, with no cabins or water facilities, this reservation is best suited for a brief visit rather than a stay-over.

Papailoa beach is one of the lesser-known beaches on Oahu’s North Shore. Situated near Waimea Bay and only a 20-minute drive from Turtle Bay Resort, this rustic beauty is the perfect locale for Military weddings on Oahu. Papailoa offers a break from the rush-and-go mentality of Honolulu. With powder-soft sands and a lava outcropping draped in emerald algae, the scenery will take your breath away.
If you’re a member of the Armed Forces Vacation Club, you can rent a room at Turtle Bay Resort starting at $2,959.99* for 7 nights. Booking a day or two at this high-end resort would allow you time to capture getting-ready photos before taking a short trip to the shore for your unforgettable Oahu wedding. *As of May 2020
Known for its paniolo (cowboy) charm, this area is covered in plantation fields with occasional roaming cattle. If you’re an outdoorsy couple, then there’s no shortage of things to do at this location! Go horseback riding on trails that overlook the spectacular forests at Sunset Ranch. Get your snorkel gear on and venture out to Shark Cove. Or hike up Waimea Valley to soak in the beauty of the indigenous greenery.
On the other hand, if you prefer the more relaxing luxuries of life, try crunching a couple of freshly roasted nuts at North Shore Macadamia, sip on a Mai Tai at the Toa Luau, or just grab a coffee and roam the many local art galleries. The North Shore is a great spot to let go of the stressors of life and just enjoy the days surrounding your Oahu wedding.

Situated on the coast of a small town, Waimanalo’s golden sands stretch for over 5 miles. The eastern-facing shore creates soft, luminous lighting during photo opts and vividly highlights the aqua waters and towering mountains.
Waimanalo is just minutes away from Bellows Beach, which offers military discounted cabin rentals, a military mini-mart, and a volleyball court and playground.
In addition, the Marine Corps at Kaneohe Bay boasts cottages, cabins, villas, and a waterfront lodge at affordable military rates. All of the 13 cottages in this pristine villa feature 2 bedrooms with queen beds, air conditioning, a full kitchen and living room, plus BBQ and patio areas. The Marine Corps is ideal for small or large groups and has unbeatable views of the northeastern shore.
Waimanalo town is less developed than Honolulu and offers a great reprieve from the hustle of the city.
If you love beach activities, then this windward location can’t be beaten! With an abundance of vivid coral reefs, Waimanalo is loaded with snorkeling opportunities. If you’re staying near Kaneohe Bay Base Marina, you can rent out their gear to engage in a variety of activities, from windsurfing to water skiing.
Best of all, this location is only a short drive from Sea Life Park. So you can schedule an after-wedding adventure to see the dolphins and feed the sea lions!

If you want Aloha spirit and an island oasis, then Paradise Cove Luau is perfect for your Oahu military wedding. With beachside or lawn ceremony options, this locale melds oceanfront with the comfort and ease of a venue.
If a reception is part of your dream wedding, then follow up the “I do” with their onsite luau. This wild adventure features Polynesian fire dancers, traditional food, and authentic Hawaiian games. As an extra bonus, special military discounts apply for luau receptions at this venue! We can get you in contact with their events organizer for more details.
The Pililaau Army Recreation Center is just a short drive from Paradise Cove Luau. Their modest but clean facilities are available in studio, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom, or 3 bedroom options with access to a semi-private beach. Priced at $87 – $127 a night, the PARC is ideal for couples who want a simple place to rest. Why spend $300+ on a hotel when you can put it towards activities that create lasting memories?
Likewise, the Barber Point Beach Cottage offers cedar cabin rentals at White Plains Beach for military families. Located near the USS Arizona, these shoreside cabins range between $90 – $110 a day, with 1 and 2-bedroom options, including AC and washer/dryers.
Populated with high-end resorts and shopping complexes, the Ko’olina area is the perfect spot to indulge in modern luxuries. Go snorkeling and view the Leeward oceans or relax during a mud bath and Lomi Lomi massage. Or take a side trip to the Marina or one of the many golf courses in the area.
Be sure to take advantage of the close proximity to Pearl Harbor. A 20-minute drive will bring you right into the heart of this historic site. Tour the museum or visit Hickam Air Force Base or Fort Shafter as you salute the men and women who proudly serve our country.

While Oahu has a prominent public transportation system, we recommend using it for short trips based in Waikiki only. To get around the island, you’re probably going to want the convenience and flexibility of a rental car.
Hertz has a long history of providing great deals to military personnel. Other companies, including AVIS, also offer military discounts. It doesn’t hurt to shop around. You could also check out MVDC for better offers or browse the Hawaii Military Guide for more tips.
Unique Vintage offers a 10% military discount on their special online wedding section for women. The Banana Republic also gives a 15% military discount and can be found throughout the island of Oahu.
Helzberg Diamonds and Tiffany’s offer 10% off engagement rings and wedding bands for active-duty personnel and veterans. On top of that, the Waikiki strip is home to a gorgeous two-story Tiffany’s, both convenient and financially savvy!

We think we can all agree that Our Grooms Got Swag!! We focus a lot on our beautiful brides and their stunning wedding gowns, hair and makeup, shoes, and all that jazz; but really, we can’t forget about our favorite groom styles! These guys really do deserve a shoutout! It’s not easy to pull off sophistication while letting your personality shine. But these grooms find a way to do it! Whether it’s in the cut, the details, or the patterns, these stylish guys rock their Oahu wedding attire! Come check out some of our favorite swaggy gentlemen!

There’s nothing wrong with the classic black tux, but there’s something about the rich, inky shades of blue that elevate groom style to a whole new dimension of on-point-ness. Offset it with patterns or a relaxed button-up, or make it uniquely you with a rose bowtie! It often surprises our clients to find out just how much of the color saturates the Hawaiian coast… it’s not just our aqua waters, it’s our valleys, skies, and mountains too! In this color palette, you’ll look polished against the panoramic views, and your special someone will really say you blue them away. We’re here all night, people!

English sophistication has never looked so good! Sign us up for these classic groom styles! From James Bond to Mr. Darcy, with the sleek silhouette of the traditional groom suit, you can’t go wrong! This style is picture-perfect and can be adjusted to match your own personality. Add the 007 bow-tie for an ultra-polished look, or bring in some jazz with hues of slate gray or linen. Special accents like a boutonniere to match your bride, a simple pocket square, or an unexpected splash of vivid color make a contemporary statement.

Aloha Print is definitely not for everyone, but a sweet little touch of a bird of paradise on a necktie or a tasteful aloha print shirt on an upbeat groom works just fine! If you’re going to dive into the Hawaiian print, then we suggest seeking out patterns that are uniquely you and original. Draw inspiration from your favorite hues, then complement that epic pattern with a pairing of sleek slacks or a mellow suit.

What can we say? Suspenders are super cool… retro yet modern, these fun staples are making a snappy comeback! Perfectly paired with a partner in boho attire or 50’s glam, suspenders add an element of youthfulness and quirky charm while still functioning as a chic wedding staple.

Bow Tie or Neck Tie… prints and hues… fabric or wood… so many options! While it’s becoming more and more popular to leave these little guys at home, the tie is evolving into an unexpected statement detail. The ladies get luscious bouquets… so why can’t the groom have some colorful flair? This simple little piece of fabric can go a long way in making an impact and showcasing your sense of fashion. Use it as a designer would decorate an accent wall: go all out, be bold, be wild, and then style the rest of the room (Or should we say, groom?) in traditional and simple hues.

Not every groom has the honor of wearing one of these proud dress uniforms, but for those who do, we say thank you. Thank you for your service! We recognize all of the important details and embellishments of your uniforms, and our sister company, Karma Hill Photography, always takes great strides to capture these pieces with diligence and respect. Keep wearing these noble groom styles with pride!

Fun and creative socks can add a touch of hidden personality that doesn’t overpower the outfit! Spunk, spunk, and then some. Your socks speak volumes about you. With just a glance at these photos, we can tell so much about each wearer’s personality. If you have a favorite pattern, a spirit animal, or just a favorite food, show it off with your feet gear! Pair those peppy socks with classic oxfords and you’ve got yourself postcard-worthy Oahu wedding attire. Just don’t forget to tell your photographer they’re under there!!

Other items such as hats, watches, or suit decor can send your traditional groom styles into a place of fashion that’s 100% you… and 100% you is the best kind of you! Don’t hesitate to add a designer watch that’s as on time as you are on-fleek. Or wear a fedora that brings out all the tropical vibes of the beach. Or clip on cherished mementos to bring you closer to those who’ve moved on. Whatever feels natural and meaningful, wear your style with pride because this is your day too!
Of course, these are only a handful of our swaggy grooms! We’ve loved getting to see these guys rock their styles and enjoy their Oahu weddings! We can’t wait to see what stylish grooms await us this year!
