Recent Oahu Elopements

With COVID safety and restrictions in mind, Charissa and Christopher shifted plans away from a large Texas wedding and decided to elope in Oahu instead. We were thrilled to help make their “just us” wedding a reality! The morning at Waimanalo Beach featured spectacular lighting and lush, tropical backdrops. With endless smiles and tender moments, this wedding in Oahu was “take-your-breath-away” beautiful. 

Oahu Beach Elopement Ceremony 

Nestled in the heart of a small, windward community, Waimanalo Beach served as the stage for Charissa and Christopher’s ceremony. The sounds of the ukulele and the soft morning sun filtered through the air as the Oahu tradewinds kept the affair comfortable and relaxing. We loved the way Charissa’s boho-chic dress draped against the sand. And can we just draw attention to her gorgeous retro-inspired hair and makeup? Simple and elegant never looked so good! 

Our Couple’s Story

Charissa and Christopher have been together for half a decade and are proud parents of a sweet furbaby named Nash. Charissa runs a dental office and Christopher is both a lawyer and a professor. They met at a lowkey BBQ and got engaged in the sweetest spot, Christopher’s parents’ backyard. Keeping the simple yet romantic tradition alive, Charissa and Christopher opted to forgo a wedding back home in Austin and chose to elope in Oahu. And we’re so happy they did! With Elvia & Jeff both being from large families they knew it wouldn’t be possible to have a traditional wedding celebration with the whole family right now so they opted for an Oahu beach elopement and brought the traditions they could. Jeff wore traditional Filipino grooms wear called a barong and Elvia brought her traditional Mexican hand-cut paper banner with their names carved into it. We love these sweet touches that really make them feel at home and surrounded by the love of their families even though they couldn’t be there.

They love that Hawaii resembles both Mexico and the Philippines in our landscape and trees. Beautiful Kualoa State Park offers vibrant blue water and gorgeous mountain backdrops. You get the best of both worlds with this epic location. It was the perfect setting for Elvia & Jeff’s union.

Jessica & Jonathan’s Oahu beach elopement was easygoing and beautiful, just as they hoped it would be! There may have been a bit of rain, but it was nothing like the downpour that their hometown of Georgia had been under. Their Special Day was a tropical reprieve from the drenching weather. The clouds cleared briefly during the ceremony and the result was a sky filled with a beautiful gradient of grays and teals.

Our couple’s love story begins with the roar of an engine. Jonathon owns a commercial tire shop and Jessica owns a dump truck business… it was a match made in paradise! Or maybe a match made in the automotive industry and a wedding made in paradise! Jessica had frequented Jonathan’s shop for almost two decades, and when the time was right, these two turned the keys to start their relationship! Two years later, on Jessica’s 40th birthday, Jonathan asked her to spend forever with him, and the rest of the story is below!

How good looking is this pair? We love the Southern charm they brought to the shore of Waimanalo. Hawaii has its own rich history of cowboys (known here as paniolo), and these two are totally pulling off an elegant Oahu Beach Elopement with a rustic country twist! It was our immense pleasure to help Jenna & Tarek elope in Oahu. This sophisticated couple said “I do” on the white sandy shores of Waimanalo as the gentle morning sun spread across the island.

But it seems as if Fate has paired these two with sandy shores… because it was on a white beach in Mexico when Jenna and Tarek first laid eyes on each other. By sheer chance (and a drop of destiny), they found each other while on vacation… and from their first walk along the beach, they knew it was forever.

And now, on the Hawaiian shoreline and overlooking the oceanfront, Jenna and Tarek’s Oahu beach elopement was bursting with the soft, intimate love of a couple designed to be together.

From their tender expressions to their heartfelt embraces, there was no hiding the sparkling electric current that coursed between these two…

Kahu Kawena Mechler officiated the ceremony with her calm and gracious demeanor. The spirit of her opening chant paired perfectly with the deep, resounding love of our couple.

Donned in a bohemian lace gown, Jenna is the walking embodiment of grace and beauty. Shinning with pride and adoration, her pure joy is luminous and matched only by the soft, sincerity of her devoted groom.

A Memorable Moment

One of our favorite parts of this Oahu Beach Elopement was seeing our groom, Son so enthusiastic for their first dance. He didn’t hold back and impressed all of us, including our bride! Moments like this are what make a wedding day truly special and memorable.

Diem then changed into a second dress for wedding portraits, which she said was more her style. And we love these shots our sister company captured of our newlyweds letting loose and having fun in the crashing waves. It’s easy to see the bond they share is unbreakable, so we have every confidence they will have a long and happy life together!

Mary and Tanner came from Tennessee for their Waimanalo Bay Elopement. And to celebrate in style they are taking a cruise ship to every island! What a great idea, we seriously can’t think of a better way to start off on the journey of marriage 🙂 .

Intimate weddings are always a special experience and this Waimanalo Bay Elopement was no exception! We especially love how our bride included a photo of her aunt and uncle, who raised her and have both passed, on her bouquet.
