Love has a way of surprising us when we least expect it, and Mamie and Tom’s Oahu elopement is a perfect testament to that. Mamie, a fitness enthusiast and LA-based Pilates instructor, and Tom, a writer for DC Comics and animated TV shows, found each other through the twists and turns of fate.

Their love story began two years ago when they met on a dating app. Little did they know that their first date would be an unforgettable one. Mamie’s mischievous dog decided to leave a lasting impression by playfully giving Tom a little nip – a “love at first bite” encounter. Mamie worried that this unexpected incident might scare Tom away, but to her delight, he came back for more, proving that their connection was unbreakable!

Fast forward to their engagement, where Tom placed the ring on the Christmas tree, initially claiming it to be a “promise to get married” ring due to some cold feet from a previous marriage. But he quickly confessed that it was indeed an engagement ring!! Mamie couldn’t help but fall in love with the ring even more when she learned that Tom’s uncle, a jeweler, had expertly cut the diamond into the shape of a heart – a symbol that holds extra special meaning for her as she was born on Valentine’s Day! On their special day, Mamie and Tom added an extra touch of magic to their Oahu elopement with a heartwarming “first look.” This cherished moment allowed them to see each other for the first time before their ceremony, creating a memory they will forever hold close to their hearts.

As the anticipation built, Mamie and Tom eagerly awaited the moment when they would lay eyes on each other in their wedding attire. The excitement was palpable, and their love radiated through every beat of their hearts. And then, with bated breath and racing pulses, the moment arrived.

Looking radiant and ethereal in her wedding gown, Mamie stepped towards Tom, who stood there in awe of her beauty. Their eyes locked, and time seemed to stand still as they took in the sight of each other. It was a tender and intimate moment filled with emotion, joy and a profound sense of love!

On A Beach In Hawaii

Their beautiful Oahu elopement ceremony was held right by the ocean at Wai’alae Beach and was nothing short of magical. With a relaxed and modern vibe, their ceremony took place against a backdrop of a breathtaking view of the beach. The atmosphere was ethereal and dreamy, perfectly capturing the essence of their love. The ocean waves whispered their congratulations and the gentle sea breeze carried their vows to eternity.

Our beautiful couple originally planned on eloping to Maui, but due to the wildfires, our expert team helped them find another incredible location to exchange their vows on neighboring Oahu. Elope in Oahu Under Pastel Skies

We met Monica & Justin on the beach just as the sun was beginning to set. The clouds in the sky filtered the golden sun into dreamy pastel hues. But there was also plenty of light. The sun’s rays peeking through the horizon, their dreams for the future shining in the distance, and their love for each other, brighter than anything else.

It’s this love that will get Monica & Justin through the tough times, and that will make the good times even sweeter. Without the pressures of a traditional wedding, they were able to reflect on all this. Despite being a giggly couple, they were serious with their vows. That’s one of the things we loved about their ceremony — the balance between emotions. Laughter, tears — we got it all.

Taking Time for Portraits

Monica & Justin were on island time. They didn’t have to rush off anywhere, so we were able to get great portraits of them around the beach. We’re so glad they stuck around after their ceremony to get these beautiful portraits. This was their chance to highlight their personal style and their incredible details.

And though these two decided to elope in Oahu with no guests, we could tell they had so much love and support from back home. Now they also have these images so that they can share their day with everyone who was there in spirit.

A sweet, simple, and romantic wedding in Oahu — you really can’t get any better than that! So when it was time for Noel & Marcus to get married, they gathered up a small group of loved ones and hit the beach.

But just because they dreamed of a low-key celebration doesn’t mean they skimped on the details. Instead, they included the elements that were meaningful for them — a walk down the aisle, a ceremonious lei exchange, and portraits that they’ll always enjoy.

Staying Close to Home

Couples travel thousands of miles to have an Oahu Wedding. But Noel & Marcus live right here on the island. So the beach, the memory, and the details were all extra special for them.

But how did they decide that a hometown elopement was right for them? We’re happy to share that we played a hand in that!

See, Noel & Marcus were out enjoying time at the beach when they saw a wedding happening toward shore. It seemed casual yet meaningful, the type of ceremony they’d enjoy. So as the vendors said their goodbyes, they asked how they could have a similar celebration.

And that’s how they got the information for Simple Oahu Wedding, and how we ended up being their coordinator. Lucky us!

Don’t worry, though — this darling duo stayed close to home for their wedding, but they’re off to see the world. Travel is in their future, and we can’t wait to hear about all the places they visit as a husband & wife team!

A Match Made in Heaven (And Grad School)

Let’s get back to Noel & Marcus, two smiling sweethearts who seemed so relaxed and giddy at their wedding in Oahu. Though they found us recently during a beach outing, their love story dates back over a decade.

That’s when they were both in grad school, looking forward to careers and life beyond their classrooms. Like most great love stories, they met, became friends, fell in love, found a house together, and got a dog (shout out to Louie!). And in 2020, they got engaged.

These days, they’re still rocking the world of academia — Noel as a Vice Principal and Marcus as a high school teacher. And though they’re always looking forward to what’s next, they’re also focusing on the now, enjoying this incredible season of life as newlyweds!

Andrea and Neil, who love traveling, just began one of their greatest adventures! It was our privilege to capture and coordinate their Oahu beach wedding! A smaller private wedding was important to our happy couple so they could spend their special day with the people they love most. So it felt like the perfect fit when they stumbled across our company Simple Oahu Wedding! Destination weddings can be simple! Their big day was modern, fun, and, most of all, full of love!

Their beautiful wedding ceremony took place at Wai’alae Beach Park with their nearest and dearest, who brought the fun and bubbles to celebrate our happy pair! Andrea and Neil love all things outdoors, so they felt right at home in this beautiful setting…after all, Neil proposed to Andrea on a hiking trip in the Colorado Rockies! The island’s natural beauty was exactly the backdrop they wanted for their Oahu wedding…

Even though our happy couple decided on an Oahu beach wedding, they still included a traditional (yet fun!) bridal party! They all looked perfectly coordinated in their matching pinks and silvery blues. As you can see in these joyful photos, their friends and family were so happy for them both, ready to dance and begin the celebrations!

Andrea took our breath away in her lace and beaded gown! Simply stunning. The embellished details of her dress only enhanced her natural beauty!

A 10th marriage anniversary is always worth honoring in our book! We were delighted to help coordinate this special milestone for Talar and James, who actually spent their honeymoon on the island years ago. The loving couple hails from down-under (Australia) and wanted to return to one of their favorite destinations for their celebration. Since they love the Hawaiian islands, an Oahu vow renewal felt just right! They were really looking forward to sharing the Hawaii experience with their children too!

Their intimate celebration was held under swaying palm trees and the golden sun at Wai’alae Beach. Both Talar and James are musicians, so it was important to them to include some traditional Hawaiian songs to enhance the tropical atmosphere! The beach is one of their favorite places, so our lovely couple’s Oahu vow renewal felt even more special…especially with their close friends and family in attendance!

A Family Experience To Remember

With their darling kiddos in tow, we walked further down the beach to capture some sweet family moments. Since Jack and Evie have never been to Hawaii, this also felt like a memorable family vacation on top of their 10th anniversary!

We love this beach in particular because of the low-hanging palm trees. They beautifully frame our charming family and create that magical Hawaiian ambiance they fell in love with on their honeymoon. It created new experiences and captured new memories for their sweet family! We love the creamy whites they wore to match the beachy atmosphere…

With Thanks

Our beautiful couple wanted an easy, relaxed affair to celebrate their commitment to each other. We could feel their mixed emotions of happiness, excitement, and a few nerves! During the ceremony, Terry, whose family is of Peruvian and Chinese descent, wanted to extend their thanks to the Earth (Pachamama) for bringing them together and supporting them as they grow as a couple. We were deeply touched by this sentiment, which resonated with our Hawaiian values… They were just moments away from being declared husband and wife!

Hand in Hand

After their intimate ceremony, our fun-loving and easy-going couple walked side by side for the first time as husband and wife! Then, we walked down the grassy lawn to the sandy shoreline at Waialae Beach Park.

We love this beach park because it has plenty of palm trees and is conveniently located next to the larger resorts in Waikiki. Our happy couple didn’t even notice the onlookers who wished them well because they were so swept up in the moment!

They couldn’t have asked for a better day for their Oahu beach wedding! It was nearly a cloudless sky with a gentle breeze. So we went around the corner to capture a few playful moments of our darling newlyweds…

Finally, as you’ll see in the following photos, Ellie and Terry know how to have fun together! Their wedding portraits were just as silly as they were significant! We laughed right alongside them the entire day…

After the giggles and smiles, our lovely couple sought a secluded beach area for some intimate portraits. As you can see, it wasn’t for long until their playful side came out again! Their easy and relaxed nature made capturing their Oahu beach wedding a joy for us!
