Ever wondered what makes a wedding day truly magical? For Kent and Mio, their beautiful Oahu venue wedding was a dream come true, filled with love, joy, and unforgettable moments!
Both working office jobs in Tokyo, Japan, Kent and Mio decided to tie the knot in a destination wedding that combined elegance with simplicity. Although initially not planning on a ceremony, they chose to have a small yet elegant wedding for their family members, ensuring it was intimate and stress-free. With most of their wedding attendees living in Oahu, it was the perfect destination to celebrate their love!

Their Oahu venue wedding took place on a gorgeous day at the Lanikuhonua Cultural Institute. Surrounded by the lush greenery and stunning scenery, Kent and Mio exchanged their vows in an intimate ceremony filled with the love and support of their family. It was a joyful occasion, and their happiness was evident in every smile and laugh shared throughout the day!

Kent and Mio had so much fun celebrating their marriage with their loved ones. Their day was filled with laughter, joy, and the beginning of their wonderful journey together. The simplicity and beauty of their wedding were truly remarkable, creating memories that will last a lifetime!

Mio looked absolutely graceful and ethereal in her wedding dress, while Kent was the picture of handsomeness. After the ceremony, the newlyweds took a leisurely walk around the beautiful property for some newlywed portraits, capturing the essence of their special Oahu venue wedding day!
The serene beach setting provided a perfect backdrop for more portraits, with the soft sands and gentle waves adding a touch of magic to their photos. The couple’s love and connection shone brightly, making every moment feel like a fairytale.

Congratulations, Kent and Mio! Your wedding was a beautiful celebration of love, and we wish you all the happiness in the world as you start this new chapter together. May you have many decades of love and joy ahead! Aloha!

Pipi and Jordan were a joy to work with as we planned their Oahu beach wedding! From the beginning, we knew their special day would be an intimate and tranquil event. For our darling pair, it was love at first sight! Josh proposed to the love of his life, Megan, on their 11th anniversary, which happened to be November 25, the same day as their Oahu elopement! It couldn’t be more perfect! Fate was on their side from the very moment they met… Please keep reading to re-live their fantastic day…

Oahu is a special place for our beautiful couple; Josh was stationed at Kaneohe Bay when he was in the Marines! Since they are so laid back, they wanted a carefree, elegant, and simple affair with just the two of them in a beautiful place.
So, Kualoa Regional Park Beach was the perfect location for their Oahu elopement because it has a white sandy beach and dramatic mountain views too!

Since Oahu holds a special place in both of their hearts, these photos are even more moving… The tropical ambiance added to the significance of the day! Their love story has come full circle; November 25 will forever be a sacred date for our beautiful couple!

Our lovely bride Megan looks understated yet elegant in her lace gown with a pop of vibrant tropical flowers…it fits the relaxed yet beautiful atmosphere of their incredible day!

Congratulations, Megan and Josh! We are so happy for you both! It was an honor to coordinate and photograph your big day! May you have many more blissful years to come!

We recently had the pleasure of capturing Brandi & Jorge’s Oahu beach wedding! It was an elegant and authentically Hawaiian affair that was just as relaxed as it was beautiful! We couldn’t be happier for these two! Take a peek at their photos below to re-live their special day…

Their ceremony began with the passing of leis between our beautiful bride and groom…it is a Hawaiian tradition for nuptials that our delightful pair embraced…Brandi wore a haku, or flower crown, that looked so exquisite and tropical!

Our two lovebirds met at work; they passed each other frequently in the hallways, and they kept finding excuses to talk to each other! Brandi finally rustled up the nerve to finally ask Jorge out! And, over nine years later, here they are on the beach, tying the knot!

Our lovely pair have always had a special connection to Oahu – they got engaged here! They knew they wanted to return here and began planning their Oahu beach wedding with us! It was long-awaited, and they were so excited to celebrate this milestone with their friends and family!

As you can see, their nuptials had the most epic and dramatic setting! Papa’iloa Beach was the gorgeous location for their Oahu beach wedding. This hidden gem is on Oahu’s North Shore, just outside Haleiwa town. Its aquamarine waters, rolling waves, and the long stretch of white sandy beach were the perfect Hawaiian backdrop for our newlyweds!

After their ceremony, we captured their entire wedding party, which was authentically Hawaiian! We love her bridesmaids’ tropical floral dresses and the aloha shirts! We love how wholeheartedly they embraced the Hawaiian theme and culture!

Our delightful couple couldn’t wait to take a few personal portraits together with the crashing waves in the distance…their Oahu beach wedding was everything they dreamed of!

We wandered further down the beach to the rockier end to capture more private moments together as husband and wife! Brandi and Jorge wanted a simple, elegant, and fun wedding in a place with so much personal significance! They were more than ready to begin their next chapter together…

And of course, we have to talk about Brandi’s wedding dress! We love the sultry draping around the neckline and the elegant slide-side slit!

Mahalo to Brandi and Jorge for choosing Simple Oahu Wedding! We wish you the very best in your next chapter together! Much aloha…

Our Oahu weddings are never short of love, beauty, and style. We’ve had the honor of working with clients who are madly in love and over-the-heels excited about planning their Big Day. One of the questions we’re often asked is how to pull off the perfect Hawaii wedding attire. When you’re coming from a hometown with snow or deserts, figuring out what will work on the sandy shore or in one of our breezy venues can be tricky!
But don’t worry, there’s really no wrong way to dress for your Oahu destination wedding. As long as you highlight your own unique flair and plan for comfort, you’ll be rocking your Big Day fashion! To give you a visual of the many possible outfit combos, we’ve compiled our 10 most memorable Oahu wedding styles: These couples have brought their wedding A-game with on-point getups and unforgettable splashes of originality!

Jayne & Jackson – Waimanalo Beach
Why we love it: When cabana chic meets gypsy lace, beach wedding style becomes elevated to a whole new level of glam! Sporting a single-breasted blazer and collared shirt, it’s the fitted cut and clean lines of Jackson’s Hawaii wedding attire that pull his gear into the realm of brilliant sophistication. We love how he left the tie behind and went sparingly on those buttons, then added a boutonniere to match his bride! Speaking of his bride, Jayne brings the look together in a stunning cream gown with delicate patterns and contours, all topped with a colorful flower crown and a bouquet that adds a splash of spring.

Yuka & Tim ~ Papailoa Beach
Why we love it: Yuka’s Hawaiian flower crown and the intricate detailing of her bodice make an unforgettable impression! Add that to her princess waist and shear pleating, and she’s the perfect combo of beachy bride and cathedral sheek. Tim looks equally as polished, sporting a cream tie to match and an icy blue button-up with slate gray slacks complete with camel Oxfords.

Brittany & Timothy ~ Papailoa Beach
Why we love it: In pleats and elegant draping, Brittany gives off all the Juliet vibes, while Timothy pulls the style into the modern era with a classic tux and bowtie combo. We can’t get enough of this striking pairing! From her twisted updo to his tailored suit, these two are 100% story-worthy.

Jessica & Ben ~ Yokohama Beach
Why we love it: From her elegant train to her Renaissance-ready hair, Jessica pulls off the princess look effortlessly. Decked out in tan and leaving the tie in the shop, Ben puts a unique twist on the suit-on-the-beach look. We love how they don’t hold back on the glam and glitz but also incorporate simple, laidback touches to give their attire personality with a subtle nod to the tropics.

Lainie & Eric ~ Kualoa Secret Island
Why we love it: Lainie & Eric perfectly pull off the youthful yet still 100% traditional look. Their Hawaii wedding attire is fit for royalty, only with a modern, tropical twist! With his jacket MIA, the focal point of Eric’s outfit becomes his bold, silvery tie, a perfect complement to Lainie’s jewel-encrusted gown. Clean lines and custom-fits showcase this couple’s confident personalities and add a pop of elegance to the Kualoa shore side.

Katelyn & Joshua ~ Kualoa Ranch
Why we love it: A couture gown fit for a queen? Check. A navy suit with a relaxed yet tailored fit? Check. A couple with style on-end and totally head-over-heels in love? Check, check, check! We love the subtle tones in Katelyn & Joshua’s Hawaii wedding attire. Champagne and midnight blue with a splash of sapphire, sign us up! On top of that, Katelyn’s princess-cut gown with lace and beaded applique is elegantly paired with a pulled back veil and loose, beachy waves.

Jessica & Jonathan ~ Waimanalo Beach
Why we love it: Jessica & Jonathan brought their country charm to the shores of Waimanalo! Her short wedding dress perfectly complements Jonathan’s laidback vest. We don’t often see hues of chocolate in wedding attire, but this rich color adds a surprising element of contemporary style and pops against the soft tones of the mountain backdrop. We can just imagine them riding off into the Hawaiian sunset…

Cheryl & Yishi ~ Paradise Cove
Why we love it: We adore beachy bridal dresses, but we also LOVE the classic cathedral eye-catchers! Cheryl didn’t hold back with her Oahu wedding style, and we couldn’t get enough of it! With seemingly endless length, her sweeping train and sheer veil stole the spotlight and enchanted us with its timeless grace.

Morgan & Kale ~ Waimanalo Beach
Why we love it: On the topic of timeless, how retro-glam are Morgan & Kale? Decked in an impeccably polished dress uniform, Kale is the embodiment of dignified. Rising to his level, Morgan looks as if she just stepped out of a classic movie. With a twisted updo accented with delicate blooms, sheer shouldering decorated with European lace, and a hand bouquet of lush red roses, we’re sort of sitting here wondering why this love story hasn’t been made into a film by now!

Alicia & David ~ Waimanalo Beach
Why we love it: Alicia & David are the perfect examples of the versatility of the boho style! If the bride’s representing this gypsy classic, her partner can pair up with practically anything: suspenders, cabana gear, or even a classic tux (like David’s 007 style!). We love the elegant cut of Alicia’s ornate gown, with a plunging neckline and a sleek mermaid-fit, she looks ready for the dance floor… and David is polished up to join her!
These couples blew us away with their style, but they’re only a handful of the gorgeous Oahu wedding styles we’ve come across! For more real wedding inspiration, be sure to check out our many blog posts! Here’s one to get you started: Pure Perfection ~ Cassidy & Taylor’s Oahu Beach Wedding.

This picture-perfect setting provided a gorgeous backdrop for Laura & Makoto’s Oahu Venue Wedding. The Royal Hawaiian Golf Course sits deep in the Maunawili Valley on the South East side of Oahu. Its picturesque mountains and lush green jungle are absolutely stunning and one of my favorite venues to work at!

Laura & Makoto traveled here from Japan to have their Hawaiian dream wedding. They were joined by a close group of family that shared in their love for each other. After their heartfelt ceremony this lucky couple was accompanied along the grounds of the golf course by their fabulous photographer Mike. He was able to capture such joy and love creating a beautiful wedding collection that they will cherish forever!

Thank you so much Laura & Makoto for letting Simple Oahu Wedding coordinate your perfect wedding day! We are honored! We look forward to sharing the rest of the pictures with you!

Nikki and JR are no rookies at this relationship stuff! They’ve been building their life together for the last 10 years and this beautiful wedding in Hawaii is just a new chapter in their book!

Nikki & JR met in high school. JR was a junior and Nikki a sophomore when they met. They have a beautiful 8 year old daughter named Madeline who we absolutely adored! We love the special part she took in their Oahu Venue Wedding. Her love and affection for her parents was just so sweet to capture.

After their beautiful union officiated by Reverend Dennis Chong, Nikki and JR enjoyed some time along the shore of Kualoa Secret Island. The backdrops are just spectacular there and we always enjoy capturing the beauty there. Thank you so much Nikki and JR for choosing Simple Oahu Wedding for your Oahu Venue Wedding! We thoroughly enjoyed everything about your special day!

There are many shows, bridal magazines and blogs that help brides find the perfect dress for any occasion, but what about the grooms? Many find it challenging figuring out what to wear and to find just the right look at a more non-traditional Hawaii Wedding. Well, we are here to help you get just the right look for you! We want you to look amazing at your Oahu Wedding!
The great thing about a beach wedding is you can make it as casual or formal as you want! The main rule for grooms is to be at the same level of dress as your bride. If your bride is wearing a formal gown, khaki shorts and a button-down shirt are going to look underdressed next to her. Conversely, If she is wearing a simple cotton dress and you show up in a tux, you are going to look like you are trying to upstage her (maybe you are, but that’s between you two! 🙂
Not every groom wants to wear a full suit on the beach, and we get it, it’s hot! So here are a few ideas for looking sharp without having to wear a full suit.

2. Wear a suit jacket, but no tie. It’s nice to have the option to take off the jacket and no tie around your neck will keep you cooler!

3. Suspenders! A little retro charm to take your look to the next level, but not as hot as a vest or jacket.

WHAT TO WEAR TIPS FOR GROOMS THAT WANT TO LOOK MORE FORMAL

If you are in the military, wear your dress uniform! It looks amazing in photos and everyone loves a man in uniform!
3. Break out the Tux! The tuxedo is the “classic” grooms attire and if you are on the more traditional side, or just love dressing up than this is the look for you! It does look quite dashing on the beach and you don’t have to stick to black!

OTHER STYLE TIPS FOR GROOMS
Hair: Be sure to get a haircut just before you leave home or just before the wedding if you live in Hawaii, you don’t want to look shaggy on your wedding day! Some salons offer “grooming” for the groom, this can include a great shave and hairstyle so you look your very best.
Hands: Put the MAN in manicure, there will be close up photos of your hands with the rings on and you don’t want to be staring at that one hangnail for the rest of your life in photos. Be sure to have clean and well-groomed hands and nails as well.
Accessories: Accessories can be fun for guys too and can bring a little fun or personality to your wedding. Big Star Wars Fan? Maybe some Death Star cufflinks? Have a special family heirloom like a watch? Bring it! Maybe a pocket square with a fun print of the breed of dog you have at home, find ways to really show who YOU are in your attire.
Fit: Be sure to try on your clothing well in advance of the wedding and have anything tailored that does not fit perfectly, like too long pants or a jacket that is just a little too tight.
We know that weddings are usually all about the bride, but we want to make sure that you are the perfect arm candy for her and the more effort you put into your attire, the better your wedding photos will look!
If you have any questions about your wedding attire, don’t hesitate to reach out to us, we are happy to help!
See you on your wedding day!

Waialae Beach is the closest of our Oahu beach wedding locations to the resort areas of Waikiki and Honolulu. Sitting just 3 miles from the Duke Kahanamoku statue at the heart of Waikiki this beach wedding venue is very convenient if you don’t want to travel far. Because of this wedding location’s close proximity to the city center, this is by far our busiest beach wedding option!
If you don’t want to venture far from the city center, Waialae Beach is a great location for a beach wedding in Oahu, especially if you don’t want to rent a car. With beautiful palm trees and sandy shores, Waialae beach makes for a perfect backdrop for a wedding while still having enough beach to share with other weddings or beachgoers.

Best for Wedding Times: Morning or Sunset
