Due to the wildfires, our lovely couple’s vow renewal was seamlessly moved to Oahu. With dreams of someday calling Maui home, it was only fitting that they chose the stunning shores of Hawaii to reaffirm their love.

The atmosphere on that gorgeous day was nothing short of magical. The bright blue sky seemed to mirror the joy in their hearts as the couple stood hand in hand, surrounded by their loved ones. Their eyes sparkled with excitement as they exchanged heartfelt vows, sealing their love once again.

What made this moment even more extraordinary was the presence of their two boys. With beaming smiles and eyes full of admiration for their parents, they witnessed the love guiding their family throughout the years. It was a true family affair, a testament to the strength of their bond.

The idea of saying their vows on a tropical island, surrounded by their closest family, seemed like a match made in heaven. Hawaii quickly became their dream honeymoon destination with its breathtaking landscapes and idyllic beaches. When they got engaged, it was only natural for them to fall head over heels for the idea of having their dream wedding in the land of Aloha.

Originally planning to tie the knot in Maui, due to the fires, our wedding coordinators seamlessly shifted their plans to the enchanting island of Oahu. Waikiki Leia, nestled in the heart of Waikiki, provided the perfect backdrop for their intimate and charming ceremony. Their Oahu venue wedding was like a private little oasis for just the two of them and their guests!

A Dream Come True

Radiant in their cream gowns and adorned with matching tropical bouquets, Laura and Holly beamed in their newlywed bliss. We are so excited to share Gellie and Ronnie’s Oahu beach wedding! The sun-kissed beaches, the gentle ocean breeze, and the enchanting beauty of the island made it a perfect destination for our high school sweethearts to tie the knot. Gellie and Ronnie realized this dream as they exchanged vows on the picturesque shores of the island’s east side. They chose an Oahu wedding because they’ve always wanted to do a beach wedding, but it wasn’t possible for a church wedding in the Philippines in 2024. But they were already planning on doing a civil wedding anyway, and they were already going on a family trip to Hawaii. So they thought since they would already be in Oahu with their family, why not get married there?! Brilliant idea! They will also be able to hold their church wedding next year too!

Gellie and Ronnie were head over heels in love, and their wedding day celebrated their deep bond. With anticipation and excitement in their hearts, they eagerly awaited this beautiful day; they absolutely LOVE the beach!

Surrounded by their closest family and friends, the atmosphere was filled with pure joy. Everyone present felt incredibly blessed to witness and be a part of Gellie and Ronnie’s special moment. Love was in the air and in the ocean breeze, as you’ll see below!

Meant To Be

Ronnie and Gellie’s love story began in the most unexpected of places – their senior year honors arts class. It was Gellie’s favorite class, her sanctuary amidst the chaos of high school. Little did they know that their paths would intertwine in a way that would change their lives forever.

Although they didn’t know each other well at first, Ronnie and Gellie found themselves engaging in casual conversations from time to time. But it wasn’t until a year after high school, about 13 years ago, that their friendship blossomed into something more. On August 22, 2010, they officially became a couple, marking the beginning of a beautiful journey together.

Their love story took an enchanting turn when, exactly 12 years later, on August 22, 2022, during a vacation in the Philippines, Ronnie decided to take their relationship to the next level. It was a magical moment, almost midnight, by the shimmering waters of a beach. With the stars as witnesses, Ronnie got down on one knee and proposed to Gellie, sealing their love for a lifetime!

Beachy Simplicity

Kualoa Regional Park Beach provided an exquisite backdrop for their wedding ceremony! With the ocean waves gently crashing against the shore, Gellie and Ronnie stood hand in hand, ready to embark on this incredible adventure as husband and wife. The setting was nothing short of magical, capturing the essence of their love.

Everyone arrived in the best of spirits, dressed in pristine white attire! Ronnie and Gellie included traditional Cambodian and Filipino elements in their elegant wedding attire too! The purity and simplicity of their outfits perfectly complemented the natural beauty surrounding them. It was a sight to behold, a sea of white against the vibrant blue of the ocean and the sandy shore.

As they exchanged their heartfelt vows, there was so much joy in everyone’s hearts and smiles. Their love spilled over, touching the hearts of everyone present at their wedding. We are so happy this family vacation turned out to be the perfect opportunity for an Oahu beach wedding!

Tropical Radiance

After their sweet oceanside ceremony, our newlyweds were ready to catch a moment alone and bask in the romance of the moment.

Gellie and Ronnie truly looked like a match made in heaven on their special day. Gellie adorned a stunning haku flower crown, carefully crafted with vibrant blooms that perfectly complemented her natural beauty. The tropical crown added an extra touch of elegance to her look, making her radiate with an ethereal glow!

Staying Close to Home

Couples travel thousands of miles to have an Oahu Wedding. But Noel & Marcus live right here on the island. So the beach, the memory, and the details were all extra special for them.

But how did they decide that a hometown elopement was right for them? We’re happy to share that we played a hand in that!

See, Noel & Marcus were out enjoying time at the beach when they saw a wedding happening toward shore. It seemed casual yet meaningful, the type of ceremony they’d enjoy. So as the vendors said their goodbyes, they asked how they could have a similar celebration.

And that’s how they got the information for Simple Oahu Wedding, and how we ended up being their coordinator. Lucky us!

A Match Made in Heaven (And Grad School)

Let’s get back to Noel & Marcus, two smiling sweethearts who seemed so relaxed and giddy at their wedding in Oahu. Though they found us recently during a beach outing, their love story dates back over a decade.

That’s when they were both in grad school, looking forward to careers and life beyond their classrooms. Like most great love stories, they met, became friends, fell in love, found a house together, and got a dog (shout out to Louie!). And in 2020, they got engaged.

These days, they’re still rocking the world of academia — Noel as a Vice Principal and Marcus as a high school teacher. And though they’re always looking forward to what’s next, they’re also focusing on the now, enjoying this incredible season of life as newlyweds!

It was an unforgettable day for Jessica and Cameron’s Oahu beach wedding in more ways than one! Our happy couple has never been to Hawaii, nor have nearly all of their guests, so to say they are excited to tie the knot in paradise is an understatement! Our sweet couple was set up by mutual friends, with Jessica’s coworker attempting to make the connection for them. But they finally met up and couldn’t stop chatting! The couple chose Papa’iloa Beach for their nuptials, drawn by its stunning views and raw beauty. It’s also a Simple Oahu Wedding staff favorite because of its sheer beauty.
